Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

[ She doesn't recognize the young man in the viewer before her, but the accent is unmistakable Westerosi. ]

...From Asshai, in the Shadow-Lands, where the Ash river meets the Jade Sea. But that is my origin; I have indeed arrived here in this land from Westeros.

And you? You've undoubtedly heard of the faith of R'hollor in your travels.

[ Once upon a time, Melisandre might have scarred her own skin in such a manner, driven by the anguish of her own slavery. But there is no evidence of any markings now on the red priestess, as the ruby gleams and shimmers at her throat over the video feed. ]

He is the Lord of Light, yes. R'hollor, the one true god, whom we as priests and priestesses serve.

[ She looks gently, kindly on the girl, although with a knowing look in her eyes. ] He sees us for our imperfections, one and all, and welcomes us into his fold with his purifying light.

[ Her smile is patient, secretive. ] R'hollor shows me visions in the flames — things that have happened, things that have yet to come to pass. He reveals truths to me in the fires, and grants me the power to allow Kings to rise and fall.

[ She studies him closely again as he protests, listening to his modulated voice and the inflections in it, and the hidden nuances underneath his tersely-delivered words. ]

...You struggle with it, within yourself. There is a great divide of both Light and Dark within you. [ ...and, there's something else... ]

Will you reveal to me your face? Unmasked.

And does he rise us up, out of the ashes of this world? Is it by his hand all will be saved?

[Her voice makes it clear she's quoting, and despite the tired hardness around her eyes, she doesn't sound anything but neutral.]

Oh Annabeth, Will was both been there and done that'. Prioritizing was one of the things he did best. But it was kind of nice to let someone take the lead on it for once, especially considering no one was dying or bleeding out. And Annabeth had more experience with this sort of thing than he did.

"Might as well fish it out. I'll keep it turned off." Will went over to the trash can to grab the phone he previously dumped there. He figured if anything she should be the one to try it. For one, Annabeth had more combat skills than he did. And she was older. She'd lived a long full life!

Cecil's reaction to Firion's admission left little room for misunderstanding. She dropped his hand entirely then and pulled back a full step from him, her brows drawn together, mouth turned down in a frown. The knight didn't look away from Firion or raise her voice instantly in argument, but instead she merely kept her eyes trained on his, studying him for a few moments. Was he ill? Had he injured himself? Surely he wasn't lying or making jest. That also wouldn't be like him at all.

"I... am afraid I have no idea what you speak of," she replied at last after she realized she wasn't going to get her own answers just by staring at Firion with bewilderment on her face. "I have always been this height for as long as you have known me and I have never seen myself as a man. Certainly, my life would have been far easier had I been born as such or even had identified as such, but I have never felt the sex of my body did not match my perception of who I am."

Well... she used to have other problems with her body, but those were all somewhat superficial insecurities, rooted in the uniqueness of her looks compared to the golden haired and bronzed skin of her peers in Baron. She wasn't about to explain that to Firion though and she never had told any of the other soldiers in Cosmos's army about it either— not even the Warrior of Light.

"As far as I can recall, you have never mistaken me for a boy. You have always responded to me and treated me as you do around other females. I truly have no explanation for this... ah, discrepancy in our memories."

Bran Stark | Game of Thrones | Option 1 (Season 1 canon point)

[personal profile] summerswarg 2016-06-07 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[The last thing Bran remembered was falling. Being pushed and falling. So when he woke up on the floating boat, he couldn't understand what had happened. Looking around, he didn't see the Queen or her brother, but he didn't see any of his family or Summer. Was he dead?

He continued off the boat and wondered that as he looked around. He was suddenly glad of the lessons Maester Luwin gave him in reading as the map would have made no sense otherwise. Continuing in a random direction, he looked for someone he might know to help him with his predicament. But the longer he found no one, he longer he wondered if he had died. It was a long way down after all.]

Henry slips his sunglasses back on his face, as well as his baseball cap, as he saunters out into the late afternoon. He is slathered all over with sunblock, so he really doubts he is going to get burned, but he feels like being low-key this evening and -

Ice blue eyes in a chiseled face and an expression somewhere between disgusted and cunning. Sharp jaw, sharp nose and God Almighty yes, that is a werewolf. Henry smirks as he slides up to Peter's side, soft as a shade, and states simply, "Don't tell me you're bored already, old friend."

[Canon is current; S6E7.]

Where most people were curious and confused, frustrated and angry at finding themselves in the new place, this sellsword was almost amused. He's curious, sure, but more so over whether or not he drank himself into a stupor and the when's and where's of all that.

It was all a bit hazy but.. whatever.

After exiting the ship, he immediately bypassed the locals giving out the maps and devices and let himself wander casually. If this was a dream, it was an interesting one, indeed. But if it wasn't..

Where the hell was that fucker Jaime Lannister?

"He's a son of Hebe, he'll heal well, assuming someone else finishes attaching his leg. I got taken before I could finish the surgery." Will shrugged, but it wasn't a non-nonchalant attitude, more an acceptance. Training was necessary. Or else they'd all die. And they didn't believe in training with wooden child weapons.

"But he probably should work on his dodging." Honestly, how did Chiron not assign him classes to help with that? Maybe since no one could understand a word he said, with him always talking in Portuguese. "I'd love the help. My skills are more toward healing, but I'd love to get better with weaponry." It was hard always having to rely more on others to defend you. But, no one was good at everything. He understood that.

"What kind of soldiers do you train? What kind of weapons?"

[Sansa goes to the docks faithfully every day, carrying her handmade banner in hopes that more of her family will arrive. This is her personal sigil, a crowned direwolf on a field of blue, but she doesn't think it will matter. Her family will know. When she sees a small boy lost among the crush of people, she thinks that it might be her brother. Still, he's not old enough. It's not possible...unless...]

Bran! Brandon Stark! Bran, it's Sansa.

[Bran saw the banner and turned towards it. It wasn't the banner of Winterfell but it did have a direwolf so it had to be a good sign. Then he heard his name and his sister's voice and he smiled. Finally someone he knew. Running to her, he embraced her in a hug.]

Sansa! [He'd always been closer to her than to Arya despite the age difference and he was glad to have someone he knew here. Wherever here was.]

Sansa always goes to the parties here on the islands if only because they so very often have lemoncakes and it is at one of these parties that she sees a face she's not seen since King's Landing. Oh. It's Ser Bronn.

The last she'd seen Bronn, it'd been before Joffrey's awful wedding and her subsequent fleeing of the city and he'd been drinking and talking crudely with Tyrion, as was his usual pattern. Still, Bronn had never been unkind to her and she supposes she can't just cram her face with lemoncakes and pretend she'd not seen him. Besides. He might have news of Tyrion.

"Ser Bronn," Sansa says courteously, fixing him with a polite smile. "When did you arrive?"
theladyofwinterfell: (i look around)

[personal profile] theladyofwinterfell 2016-06-07 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sansa catches him in a hug and holds him tight, trying not to cry. It's a very near thing. She hasn't seen Bran since she first went south and he'd been lying in a bed, still injured. This Bran can walk and she knows he must be before that awful, awful fall.]

Bran, oh Bran. Bran, I've missed you so much.

[Bran's last memories were still hanging around him but he pushed them aside. He was with his sister not the Lannisters. He had no reason to fear. Though he was quite confused by her words.]

But I saw you only a few hours ago. Father had just left for the hunt with the King.

"They seemed a little too eager to make sure we had it, it has to be important to somebody." Which probably meant that it actually would be the instrument of their demise, but then again, that could be anything. If whoever had brought her here wanted her to have a way to communicate, she'd take it--and find some way to use it against them.

"What I really don't understand is if they're going to abduct us, why would they let us run loose in an entire city?"

Leaned up against a nearby tree, Bronn watched the faces in and around him with a cursory glance. He was spectating, for lack of a better word. Perhaps eyeing a pretty lady, or two, paying particular attention to who they were with and which he'd likely approach later. He was still a man, after all.

At Sansa's voice, he turned his head and looked her up and down before straightening, giving her a raise of his brows in what was only mild surprise.

"Earlier today," Bronn answered, bringing his cup up to his lips for a drink. "Fancy meetin' you here, Lady Stark. Last I heard, the squire and Lady Brienne were on their way to try and find you. Did they?"
theladyofwinterfell: (Default)

[personal profile] theladyofwinterfell 2016-06-07 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)

"No," Sansa says quietly. They had, but she'd refused to go with them. She can hardly tell that to Tyrion's man, who surely must have heard from Tyrion that she'd gone missing.

"Things...happened. Anyway, I was remarried because they thought Lord Tyrion was dead. Is he?"

[personal profile] theladyofwinterfell 2016-06-07 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)

[Sansa shakes her head. No, if he doesn't remember, she can't tell him. Still, she's years older than she'd been then and much sadder now.]

No, a long time has passed. This place has a strange magic to it. I'm as old as Robb now.

summerswarg: (Vines)

[personal profile] summerswarg 2016-06-07 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)

Strange magic indeed. Is Robb here with you? Where is here anyway?

[The spearwife wasn't really paying too much attention at the first part of the woman talking until she got to words like "the Wall" and "great battle". That snagged her attention and quick.

Ygritte fumbles a bit, but manages to turn her device onto 'video'.]

What do ya mean by a great battle? Did the Long Night come?

"It will probably kill us," Will nodded, agreeing with her. She was right. They wanted them to have it very badly. It would probably seep poison or make monsters extra focused on killing you.

He turned to Annabeth. "We should seperate sometime and see if we can Iris message each other, rather than camp. Just in case. I don't know about you, but I don't want this thing to be the only way we can communicate." He took a look around. "I don't know, but I don't think we're in Kansas. Or New York for that matter."

"That's probably a good idea. I'm...not sure how effective it would be, though." Did she even bring any drachma with her? She wasn't quite so sure that Iris would take anything else, even if they could get a hold of her.

"I don't even know where this is." The architecture was strange, the whole place looked...odd. Like it didn't quite belong on Earth. But...that wasn't possible.

...was it?
the_bronn: (pic#10335193)

[personal profile] the_bronn 2016-06-08 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Bronn scratched his nose, the news not entirely shocking given a lot of people still thought him dead. Out of sight, out of mind he assumed. But he knew differently, or he believed Jaime when he told him what happened after he'd seen the Imp down in the cells of the Red Keep.

"Last I heard, his brother opened the door of his cell and looked the other way." he told her. "Couldn't tell you what happened after that."

A beat.

"Who thought he was dead?" Call him curious. Also, the way she said it stirred a little more serious in him. There was a lot of questionable 'they's' in Westeros and especially King's Landing and where Sansa Stark was concerned, he could only imagine whoever 'they' was had only his own self interests in mind.

Peter's got those wolf-senses (thank you, God) on high alert, and even he is barely aware Henry's there until he is, and then he freezes, though less in surprise at being snuck up on than shock at that voice. For a moment he's afraid to turn, to look, because what if he's dreaming? What if it's some cruel trick of this place, or his own demented imagination?

But he can't not look, either, even if it breaks his heart when it's not real. When he dies turn, then, it's fast, reaching to grab Henry by the shoulders as stunned hope flickers in his gaze instead of the cunning of moments before.

"...Henry?" He swallows, because, gods, he's still here, and then he smiles, that oh-so-rare smile of his that isn't anything like his usual smirk. "Maybe this place isn't a fresh Hell after all..."
