Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!
2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!
3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right?
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Praise the Heavens I don't have a collar around my fucking neck anymore.
[ FDR remembers just about everything about the island. Atia. Annie. Dean. The boys. His friends. The people he was close to. Kate. Angela. Everyone. They're all there in his head. He remembers the SUV coming at them. She was about to tell FDR that she picked Tuck and everything went to shit. Then he got drug off and spent a good chunk of his life on an island. An island where he actually found everything his Nana ever wanted for him. A life. An existence beyond just being alone and going through women.
His fingers scratch at his neck in an attempt to find some relief. Happy to finally be missing a damn collar. That bitch. He's been taken somewhere else, but at least the concept is still the same. They have a network and that's all he needs. A network and the people he loves. ]
Let's cut to the chase shall we? Has anyone seen my wife? She's about ye high--[ He makes a hand gesture for her height. ]--super hot, blonde, kicks people's asses for looking at her funny and coincidentally she also has a nice ass. Like it's hard to look away from, but you can't look too long. Like looking into the sun. Ruins you. Her name's Annie.
... wow. no.
Annie keeps her device nearby during the day, just because. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off, and sometimes the background noise is just that - background noise. But that? That voice? She knows that voice. She more than knows it, actually, she's attuned to it in all the ways that she should be. He's the most arrogant man she knows (and she's known a few), but he's also one of three men she's loved in a recent lifetime that's seen too many men.
Too many men, and now he's the third to show up on a group of islands that's getting smaller by the minute.
The words that come out of his mouth make her snatch up the device and she looks at it, jaw dropping, as '--kicks people's asses for looking at her funny' comes out of his mouth, and watches the rest of it as a growing smiles comes across her face. Of the men she's loved, FDR was the one who'd never really gotten the best deal. Henry had understood best; his own lifetime had seen too many lovers, but not enough love. He'd never doubted how Annie felt about him. Dean was someone she couldn't resist. But FDR? He was part of her and seeing his face on her screen made her chest ache.]
Franklin. [It came out on a sigh as she shook her head, somehow at a loss for anything else. Then, fondly:] You can't say that kind of stuff where people can see.
no subject
What? [ He smiles slowly. ] It's not like I got too graphic. I just said you have a good butt. I mean people at least have to know that about you by now. That your ass works miracles for men and women. [ He's always been proud to have a wife as pretty as her. He scored the jackpot. ]
no subject
God, I've missed you. I can't believe you're here. Where are you?
no subject
Who loves you, baby? [ He winks. ] By the docks.
no subject
I'll come to you.
[She does.
It takes a few minutes, or closer to twenty, but she jogs practically all the way there. The boys are at White Willow and she'd taken the day from the Mean Princess because of the holidays and tree decorating. It's an easy run, however, so she's not even out of breath when she gets there, sweatshirt and jeans in place, hair in a ponytail. Eyes scan the docks and then she sees him, almost exactly how he was a year previous.]
Franklin...
[She says it as she walks up to him, suddenly at a loss where to begin.]
no subject
He waits for her. Fiddling with change in his pocket until he sees her. Seeing her right now is even better than when he lost her after the wedding. When he finally found her again. Right before him. Looking just as beautiful as she did on their wedding day. Only with a little less dress and a little more relaxation. ]
What'd I say about calling me that where people can hear?
[ The only one capable of getting away with calling him Franklin other than his Nana. He moves towards her quickly. A surge of energy in a three piece suit as he picks her up and swings her around. ] Gotta do it in a whisper.
no subject
[He looks so good and when he picks her up, she can't resist burying her face in his neck. Her hand curls in his hair as she does so and though the twirling ends, she doesn't let go right away. There are people there who might remember FDR, but not all of them might remember him fondly. And, of course, Dean won't remember him at all. The boys will. The boys should be thrilled to see him, but all of this is so, so complicated.
She pulls back and gives him a long look.]
And you know I only whisper it when. [When. It's also the only time she screams it.] I can't. I can't believe you're here. There's so much you've missed. So much time-- it's been a while. Not just here but. [A deep breath.] The boys are here. They're two and a half.
no subject
[ Annie, did you expect anything better? This is FDR we're talking about? If he had a chance he would have filmed you exercising for the network or you bending over to just grab something. That's how much of an idiot you married. ]
When what? [ Such a little shit. He can't help it. Though he does look surprised when she tells him he missed a lot. The boys are big now. No more kangaroo carrier. He'll miss that thing. It went great with his suits. ] Shit. I guess I did. They're good though right?
no subject
Speaking of...]
They're good. They're really good, um. [A slow exhale as her chest starts to hurt.] Home's this way, so you know how that whole thing back before was like-- [And she's walking as she's talking with her hands, mostly because she has to. She has to keep it all on the level to keep it fair. To FDR, to Henry, to Dean... even if Annie and Dean aren't Annie and Dean they way they've been in the past, in Annie's head, they'll always be Annie and Dean. Where Henry is her soul, Dean is her heart, and Franklin is her person. They make up who she is, and she can't deny that they've all played a significant part in creating who she's become over the last four years.] -- Henry's here. Remember Henry? And, um.
[So maybe she can't walk and talk at the same time.] Dean. Dean's here. He's not the same as he was. He doesn't remember, well. Anything. Uh-- [She walks again, this time slower, taking her time now that she's gotten it out. She'll never be able to forget what she'd done to FDR and how it'd shaped their relationship.] After you left, a long time after you left, we got married. He doesn't remember. Had no clue. He's there for the boys, Henry's there for me... [And finally, finally, she looked at him.]
no subject
Yeah. Vampire dude right? [ He remembers him going ape shit once and the Winchester's trying to string him up by his toes. He told Henry if he needed him he was there. He's not sure how to feel when she says Dean's here. That's a bit like a stomach punch. Even though she says he doesn't remember anything.
Then she says something he wasn't expecting. She got married. Again. To Dean. Huh. He tries to keep every painful expression off his face because he knows it's not fair. He's not even bothered by her saying Henry's there for me because he knows code. He's not stupid. But Dean. Fucking Dean Winchester. ] If you married Dean--did you divorce me?
no subject
This? She's not entirely sure she can explain to FDR what happened in a way that doesn't sound like she did something bad. But she has to ask.]
Did I need to? Does leaving the island cause a divorce? Was I a widow? Still married...? [She trails off, lifting her shoulders helplessly.] You were gone over a year before I even thought about marrying Dean, Franklin. What--
[She's so obviously at a loss.]
no subject
I don't know, but logical assumptions are that someone divorces someone else before marrying anyone else. [ But logic didn't work on the island. He knows that. FDR lifts a hand to rub his forehead briefly before sighing. ] Can I ask a question? I'm not trying to be a dick, but what happened to being done with him? Cause that's what you told me. That you were. But now you say you're married to him.
no subject
Atia sent everyone home, Franklin. Everyone. Or, you know, wherever. Getting married to Dean was-- [What, impromptu? It had been, but it'd also been them.] We were going to go back to his... where he was from. We were going to make a go of it, with the boys. Instead, I ended up here and. [She took a breath.] He showed up about a month ago, but he doesn't know any of that. He's older, been through more, weirdly more stable, but. [She gave FDR a look, begging him with her eyes to understand.] He doesn't get it. I finally had to tell him what it was like back then, for us. About Atia.
[She shook her head]
After you left, he and I raised Arya, too. Sam's daughter? She's not here, but he knows about her. [She sighed.] He and I aren't together, not like you'd think. He sometimes stays at the house, but it's not. [She shook her head.] He's there for the boys, like I said. He wants to get to know them. How can I say no to that? He knows we're married, wears the ring around his neck, but.
[She shrugs.] I guess relationships around here are even more fluid than I'm used to. And now you're here, too, and I don't know what that means.
no subject
But he took care of her. Which means something given his anger. She wanted to make it work with Dean. Tried to. But never got the chance. He has a question, but it's caught in his throat. He doesn't give it a voice. It's too scary and too sad for him to. He loves her, but he doesn't want her to be hurt. ]
Well, I'm your husband. No matter if you married Dean or married a drunk piece of drift wood. [ Which he thinks is actually the same. ] What'd you mean by Henry's here for you? Am I out and Henry's in?
no subject
She can't argue married or not because they are married, or were, but that's applying Earth logic and law to this place and does it invalidate her marriage to Dean? She's getting a headache, actually, and his question about Henry doesn't help.]
There's no out and in, it's-- [She shakes her head.] Franklin, it's not that simple.
no subject
Quietly FDR toys with the ring on his ring finger. Watching her and feeling that familiar clench in his stomach. Painful and distracting. ] I get it. [ There is an out and an in. Because FDR is a trained field agent. He notes the absence of his ring on her. Which feels more painful than anything really. ]
Kinda feels like there's an out and an in though, Annie. [ He nods down to her hands. His missing, but another in place. ]
no subject
[It's not like back home, where spies go off and do who knows what for however long they need to with no contact. This had been an island where people were brought from different times and places and, after a year, she'd had to admit to herself that he wasn't coming back.]
You're not being fair, Franklin, and you know it. Things were different there than at home. And being here? It's an entirely new place with new rules and new people, new memories-- [At least in Dean's case.] Seeing you is a shock to me, too.
[Quietly:] Please. There's not an out and an in. It's not that simple.
no subject
[ He knows he doesn't have a leg to stand on. He was gone. Taken back home and away from her. Which he's very angry about. But somehow he just never imagined she'd wind up back with Dean. He always thought that maybe he'd still have a shot. Hopefully. ]
What is it then, Annie? How do you feel about me when you look at me?
no subject
[She was about to answer his question before he asked it; it's how in tune they are with each other. He knows her as well as she knows herself, which is why she loves him as much as she does. It doesn't make it any easier.]
I love you, Franklin, you know that. You don't have to ask that. Loving you was never the problem.
no subject
Right. It was just wanting to be with just me. [ He doesn't mean to sound harsh, but unfortunately it's the truth. She loved him plenty. Cared for him. But she had Dean. She had so much more. She had everything to contend with. ] I'm sorry I was gone that long.
no subject
But he was wrong about one thing.] I wanted to be with you. I did. I didn't know it until it was too late, but by then? You were gone. I had Dean, and he's here now, but. [Her smile isn't sad, just accepting.] He's not the same. He doesn't know me or love me. He tolerates me because I'm a novelty, but it's not like you think. And I'll always love him because he'll always be a part of me. He's family. I have his sons. And there's Henry, who's always had a piece of my soul, and he's another one who's always been too good for me, so. I won't tell him that he has to vacate his place in my heart or my bed.
[With a sigh, she starts walking again and nods for him to do the same.] Don't apologize for being gone, Franklin. It's not your fault, but it's not mine, either. I just need you to understand that I've always loved you and I always will. We just need to... I don't know, start slow?
no subject
He can remember all of it. Her helping with his collar. The Masquerade. The two of them spending time together. Her taking him in when he got out of the forest. Her calling him when Dean went home. That end of the world thing. That left him way too broken than he could deal with. She lived with him for a while. Then just like that back to Dean. He burned all his sheets because everything smelled like her. Everything just felt like overload. ]
I'm not gonna make you kick out Henry. I'm not a complete dick. [ Two years. Two years to keep going. To fall in love with someone else. To fall into bed with them. He moves with Annie though despite the fact that he wants to row himself back to the island in that boat. Fix this. ] How do you start slow when you're married to someone?
no subject
His question is a valid one. They'd been married all of a month when he'd disappeared, and she'd been gone for two weeks of that. It was everything that came before that made what they'd had so special. Everything he'd done for her and...]
I don't know. [It was as honest as she could be. To be truthful, she'd never been good for him. He'd been a glutton for punishment and she'd let him. She'd been horrific to him, to his feelings, and he'd put up with it for reasons she didn't understand. Love? A cruel mistress, definitely.] I just hope we can. We've done everything else.
