Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"I know the basics. Different world than our own, time doesn't pass as quickly as it could between our worlds and people from all sorts of eras appear here. Whatever power is here is saturated into the entire being of the islands."

She smiled and held out her hand in greeting. "Yayoi Kise. It's nice to meet you Anduin. I take by your clothing you're from a world not of Earth?"

He doesn't look too perplexed about that explanation. He's met people who have come from different worlds before, after all, and the bronze dragonflight is capable of traveling through time so he can accept time passing differently in other place as well.

He takes the offered hand and gives it a polite shake. "Nice to meet you too, Yayoi. I've never heard of a world called Earth before, I'm sorry. My world is called Azeroth. There... doesn't happen to be an easy way to get back to where we came from, is there?"

"Azeroth, sounds like quite a world with a name like that." She had a firm grip, surprising from a young 24 year old who looked so dainty. She gave Anduin a bright smile and added, "Naw, there isn't. But there's always never a easy way out of things in my experience."

"Did you just arrive?" she asked curiously. "Get your keys, phone and what not?"

"I thought as much," he says with a soft sigh of slight disappointment. "Keys and... Oh you mean this thing?" He holds up the communication device he was given. "I've never heard of a phone before. Could you show me how it works? It looks like some sort of more refined gnome technology."

"Oh sure. I didn't want to presume but it didn't seem like you were well versed in phones, considering you look like you stepped out of a fantasy story."

Yayoi moved up next to him and poked the screen. "You activate it here, and then you can search through the posts. It's kind of like a phone, giving you video which is visual recordings with voice and people on the other end, or text like this one, and I'm sure you can make a few private calls too."

"Like here." She pulled out her own and tapped it, sending him a text message which should blip up in a second.

Anduin raises his eyebrows in amusement at the 'fantasy story' comment. To him, fantasy means something more akin to a story that was just made up, not something that implies castles and magic.

He pays attention as she explains how to work the device, nodding along in comprehension. It doesn't seem all that complicated to use, and he's used magical items to communicate visually with people across vast distances before. The video option sounds like it's something along the lines of that.

Text messaging isn't something he's quite experienced before though, and his eyes widen in quiet amazement when he gets the text she sends. "It sends a note through the device? And you just... use the buttons to write it out? What does the D on the end stand for...?"

"That's right. Or you can record yourself with the camera, and then upload the message as well as talk over the phone in a real time conversation. That means basically face to face but through the communicator." said Yayoi, tapping the connection and sending it to Anduin to pop up in his box.

"And the D? That's an emoticon, made from a colon punctuation mark and a D. That means a smiling face! See?"

And Yayoi made a great approximation of a :D expression in real life, which would be captured on Anduin's own since her line was open. "Pretty cool huh?"

"We have something like this in my world, only it uses magic to make the connection," Anduin explains as he looks back and forth between the actual Yayoi and the one on the video.

"E...moti...con...?" He sounds the word out slowly to make sure he's pronouncing it right, glancing at Yayoi for confirmation that he's doing so before he looks back at the text, turning the device sideways. "Ah, I see it now," he says with a smile, and his smile turns into an amused grin when he brings the video back and sees Yayoi doing her best impression of the emoticon. "Very interesting." Her last words, though, make him look a bit confused, hefting the device a little bit. "Is it supposed to feel cool...?"

"Really? I know a few people who rely on magic to talk to people too..." said Yayoi thoughtfully.

Yayoi giggled a little, shaking her head. "Cool means "amazing, spectacular" and the sort. It's modern slang. I have a friend who gets so flustered when he's called cool."

"But you know what's cool? Ice cream! Have you had any yet?"

"Magic is common in my world. It's used for many things," Anduin states.

"Ah, got it. That's... cool?" he half asks with a light smile, which turns into a light laugh when she brings up ice cream. "Not here, I haven't, but we have ice cream on Azeroth."

"That's cool, magic is somewhat common on my world as well. Earth's got a lot of superheroes after all." said Yayoi.

She nodded with a brilliant smile and laugh. "You're in for a treat. Just stay away from some of the weirder flavors. Like dirt. There is actually dirt ice cream and it's so gross."

"Super... heroes?" he questions. "Are they something different from heroes?"

Anduin's face scrunches up a bit when she mentions the dirt ice cream. "It's not actually made with dirt, is it? Why would someone do that?"

"Yeah, Superheroes can do things like leap high into the sky, fly and shoot lasers from their hands. Is that common around where you come from?" she asked innocently.

"I think it is, it's atrocious. I guess no one really had the idea that ice cream should be tasty."

[peacefulprince]

"How do they shoot lasers from their hands? Is it some kind of engineering? We have people who can do those things through the use of magic or engineering... There are some races I'm sure can leap higher than a human but as to how far, I'm not certain."

He gives a little laugh. "Well, if anyone offers me dirt ice cream, I will kindly decline thanks to your warning. I think ice cream should always taste good too."

"It depends on how their power set works. Sometimes heroes can gather energy at their palms and fire it. Others have tech or magic, and other different abilities. There's so many different sources of laser beam attacks."

She grinned, nodding. "Same here. Ice cream is the best."

"Wouldn't... gathering energy in their palms and using no technology fall under magic?" he questions.
