Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"No. Not really." Only the party at the Winter Palace, really. It had been more than enough. The Inquisition was easier. At least they didn't have more than one face that may or may not have been real.

"Did you?"

"Yes, it sort of came with the uh, cheese killing territory. Orlais makes some good cheese." That was true. Also, there was that weird ham that tasted like despair. He'd only tried that once but once was enough.

"I don't know." He wasn't too terribly concerned with the food. "I was listening to the whispers and the wants instead. They sing shining songs, sweet and silent and shimmering. They sound like stars."

His words sounded like one of the poems Anora liked, that he usually wasn't sure he understood. What did stars sound like?

"Well. That's nice."

"Yes." It was nice--beautiful even, sometimes. "Do you listen too?"

"Half my life is spent listening," Alistair with a wry grin. "Though not usually to stars."

"Why not? They have things to say too." Most people couldn't hear it, though. Most didn't even try.

Alistair smiled, shaking his head. "I didn't know that before but now that I do, I swear I will try harder to listen to the stars as well." It couldn't be any worse than listening to some members of the Bannorn.

"Good. It could help." If nothing else it was a time to pause, take a breath and reflect on something other than the current problems. That could help more than a little.

"I'm sure it could."

It was a bit sad that this was far from the strangest conversation Alistair had been part of during his life. At least this time no pigeons had been harmed, nor had he tried to interpret the barks of a mabari hound.

"Yes. You should try." Really, he thought that about most people, though. People should take more time to listen.

Cole's eyes go a little distant, though, as he looks more through than at Alistair.

"Royal and right, reached and reaching. Sometimes it's hard to hear."

Alistair went very still, his eyes narrowing slightly as he looked at Cole. "What did you just say?"

[personal profile] fadeling 2016-12-08 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
"What I heard. Did I say it wrong?" That happened sometimes. The words were different here, easier in the Fade. They didn't mean more than one thing there.

"No, you said it right." Alistair frowned, his brow furrowed as he tried to make sense of this. "How exactly did you hear that though?"
fadeling: (Default)

[personal profile] fadeling 2016-12-10 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't know. I do." It was hard to describe when the words didn't work. "How do you hear?"
bastard_king: (Default)

[personal profile] bastard_king 2016-12-11 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"With my ears. But I never said any of those things, not aloud at least." This kid just kept getting stranger and stranger.
fadeling: (Glare)

[personal profile] fadeling 2016-12-11 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"But they're there. I can hear them." How exactly was he supposed to explain it when it was so innate to him. "I hear the hurts to help the helpless and heal the hurting."
bastard_king: (Default)

[personal profile] bastard_king 2016-12-11 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That was true, Alistair had to admit. Royal and reaching and all the other things were stuff he said to himself. And now, apparently, to Cole.

"How do you heal them?"
fadeling: (Found)

[personal profile] fadeling 2016-12-11 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"How it needs to be. Sometimes it's easy, but sometimes it isn't." Really, that's something he could say about most things in the world.

"Or I can make them forget. It's different for each one."
bastard_king: (Default)

[personal profile] bastard_king 2016-12-12 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Alistair thought about that for a moment. "It almost seems too easy, doesn't it? At least for some people. Somtimes we need to live with our pain for a bit, learn from it."

He remembered those days after Ostagar and hard they'd been. If someone had told him he could forget that, he might have taken them up on the offer. And it would have been a mistake.

"But not forever. It stops helping if it gets stuck." Then it just becomes torture. People got caught in cycles, sticking on the points that hurt the most, replaying them over and over until they couldn't see anything else.

That only hurt people.
bastard_king: (Default)

[personal profile] bastard_king 2016-12-13 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
He had a point there. "How do you tell the difference though? Between people who are stuck and those who are still just dealing?"
fadeling: (Glance)

[personal profile] fadeling 2016-12-14 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"By how it hurts." There really wasn't another way to describe it. "It sounds different, darker."
bastard_king: (Default)

[personal profile] bastard_king 2016-12-16 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Alistair nodded slowly. It made sense - though it also didn't, since he was still wrapping his head around the whole hearing people's pain thing. Though the strangest part what that Cole was clearly from Alistair's world. He was beginning to expect weird and wonderful things from others but this was different.

"I'm sorry. It's...hard to say. The words are different, here. They were easier in the Fade." Really, though, there wasn't a way to describe the soft sounds of the songs he heard when people hurt. It was the singing that drew him in, sharp but silent, pulling and pushing both.
