Welcome to Medietas! Do you have an interest in joining the game? Is there an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, perhaps you're looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do! If you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see and do!

2. Islands: There is definitely some weirdness going on around the islands from the sidewalks that glow to the mysterious energy that doesn't seem to have any direct source. There are statues that hum softly and seem to grow every so often. And what is with these bridges? Go forth and investigate! Puzzles are FUN!

3. PARTY: Every month or so there's always a celebration somewhere, be it on Mulciber, Imber, Mundus, or Eurus! Eat, drink, dance, talk among the other islanders. It's about making new friends and enjoying yourself, right? Even if you have been stolen away from your homeworld to a bunch of floating islands.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"No it can't. And I won't be grudge them their secrets. I do like them," he said, watching people some more.

"This is just one part of me. A bit of me that's decided to see what it was like to be human like. They made me so I decided to be one to try and understand them better," he said. "Back when they were still in their caves and learning about fire."

It was almost similar to what he'd done, so long ago that he'd forgotten. Or was it that long ago? Either way, he couldn't remember. And he'd done that on purpose. He knew that he had made himself a person--or at least close to one--but he couldn't remember why. It was something to do with the person who was actually Cole and who wasn't him. He'd let that part of him finally die and sent Cole on to the peace of the Maker.

And yet...it wasn't quite the same, either. Just different enough.

"A piece of pieces, a slip of a shadow, sidling sideways and singing secrets in soft sighs. Something...old and forgotten but unfaded for the finding."

Meanwhile, the Thief in the Night has memories of everyone he used to be making a greater whole. He's more than the sum of his parts, but without his parts he wouldn't be anything but thoughts in the back of people's minds.

"Yes. Exactly. People try to forget but they can't," he said. "And now we're both here; and I'm more real than I ever wanted to be, unable to get home.'

"Sometimes it hurts too much to remember. I can make them forget." It helped, sometimes, if they didn't have to remember, if they could just forget what got them stuck and move past it.

"Why don't you want to be real? Real is better than not real. I was not real once."

"But if they remember they can see the truth," he countered. "They can learn who they really are."

No one really likes being confronted with who they are. If they can face it then they gain new strength and lose fears. In his own twisted logic, Thom sees himself as being compassionate, helping people lose the blinders that cover them.

"It's harder for people to fear things that they can see and touch."

"If they get stuck they need to forget." Even if only for a little while. "No one should hurt forever." As far as he was concerned, that was the end of it. Sometimes it wasn't even their fault.

"Sometimes. Not always."

"Or a little push. And sometimes there are hurts that are good. It might prevent them from making a mistake again."

Though they probably won't get in complete agreement. They're seeing the world from two different poles.

"True. I will give you that. Some people will always be afraid of fire and the unknown."

"It shouldn't hurt forever." He was still adamant about that and he always would be. If it got stuck it didn't help anything or anyone.

"Yes. They know the known and the known is safer."
forgottenthief: (Yeah well I'm sure you thought that)

"So a man who gets drunk and accidentally hurts - kills someone because he lost control should forget the pain and thus maybe repeat the mistake because he forgot how it hurt when he did it?"

He countered once again. Pain has a purpose.

"Exactly. I would rather stay unknown and unsafe."

"If he learned then he isn't stuck." It always was a tricky line that he walked, doing his best to balance the hurting and the helping. Even so, he couldn't just let people keep hurting just because someone thought they deserved it.

"Why?"
