Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!
3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Besides, she had her morpher in her back pocket, if this really was one of Rita's traps, she'd be ready.

It was a color she wasn't technically used to, but Trini looked wary, and rightfully so. That's fine, so was Kendall. "You were looking for your friends, right? If they're on the same frequency as my comm then I might be able to modify my own to patch towards your friends."

Translation, Kendall wasn't too sure if she believed any spiels given to her.
"As for the tech, well..." And Kendall held up her Dinocomm, the squat square device set in with a touch frame which she tapped on to adjust. "There's just too many variables at the moment, but at the very least we seem to be from the same world."
Giving Trini a quick glance, she asked, "That's 90s fashion isn't it?"
no subject
"Yeah, fairly modern," she said. Shopping with Kim was a fun way to spend an afternoon when Rita let them have one off and they weren't practicing at the youth center with the others or playing out door sports.
no subject
Youth centers weren't quite a thing back in her hometown, but Kendall didn't make a habit of interacting with teenagers that much. Even Shelby, arguably the youngest was in first year college.
"You seem used to this. Living in the 90s must mean you've seen the Power Rangers in action huh. There's been 20 generations of them since the first team."
no subject
"You're trying to tell me that I'm somehow in the future? And that the future is filled with... world and time travel and flying boats?" And... 20 generations of rangers? How... did... did that mean that they all died? Young? Badly? That Rita won and would just keep winning? Her heart pounded in her chest painfully as she fought to keep her face straight. As she tried not to think of all her friends dead... Kimberly. Billy. Jason. Zack. Tommy. She closed her eyes. She couldn't keep them open any longer.
But closed was worse. She could see them, laying there dead. In their suits... and not. Rita knew who they were, who was to say she didn't get smart one day and pick them off in their homes while they slept?
no subject
"And yes, 20 generations of Power Rangers. Seems like almost every couple of years we get a new team after the last team scored a major victory. For no amount of incredible skill and luck."
From Trini's expression, she probably was close to someone from that era. "For what it's worth, no Ranger has passed away to my knowledge. They just change roster. A lot."
no subject
It was a relief to not think they all died, but what she was saying wasn't possible, it wasn't. How could she believe for even a second that any of them would turn their back on people in need? They wouldn't. Not ever. She'd seen the evil that Rita could do, what Rita wanted to do to the Earth. She wouldn't leave people to suffer that. Not ever! No way!

"Rangers defeat a threat. Sometimes they move onto the next generation of color-coded spandex. Sometimes, they retire. Move on with their lives after choosing successors." Kendall shook her head. "Not everyone fights for their entire life. One of these days, a Ranger sets down their morpher and blaster, and passes it to the next generation to safeguard the world."
no subject
And then... "Wait, some of the Power Rangers.. are...immortal?" Not every meant that some were, didn't it? That... that was a bit much to consider.
no subject
"And got it. Here, I'll just lend this to you for now. This should hone in on people that are using the same frequency you are. Just get it back to me sometime later."
no subject
She looked at what was being offered. "Thank you, but I don't know when I will be leaving, if it is important to you, I don't want to risk accidentally taking it with me."
no subject
"Believe me, I can make those out of bailing twine and scraps in a box. But we can go together if you still need to find someone."
no subject
"I appreciate the help," she said, finally. She didn't know how to find them without the help, even though she didn't want to drag this woman along. Trouble always seemed to find Trini, and the woman seemed too clever already. She didn't want to be torn between protecting her and preserving her secret.
no subject
"So, since you're from the 90s and you know of the Rangers, are you from the Angel Grove/Stone Canyon area? I remember that's where they first popped up."
It was a casual enough question, one that a history person like Kendall would know. That, and she was beginning to suspect due to Trini's colors she was one of them. For once, Kendall was glad she herself wasn't tied to that silly color coordination her team was so prone to being. The amount of shirts the guys went through every day was beyond belief.
ROFL.
Trini nodded. "Angel Grove," she confirmed. "Have you ever been? We would go out to the beach sometimes, so I have been out your way, though probably before you were old enough to be there." This whole time thing was more than a little odd.
Re: ROFL.
"They were empowered by a overwhelmingly huge number of powers from the last 19 generations of Rangers, from what the news told us. That was the second half though. The first half they seemed to be using a whole different power set. It was a complete and utter mess."
In Kendall speak she felt that it was downright dumb to have that many powers. Think of how much damage it could do if an enemy got a hold of a Ranger Key. But at Trini's acknowledgement of being in Angel Grove, she nodded. "Spring Break in College. It's become a bit of a tourist trap there. There's a few notable spots, the Juice Bar, Adele's, Bulkmeyers, and I think several dojos as well. And a bit. I was born in 1990 so I was a little too young to have remembered the news, but I grew up hearing Power Rangers news all the time."
Re: ROFL.
She listened to what Kendall said about all the powers, somewhat confused. She let it show on her face because anyone would be confused, it didn't give away that she was a Ranger. Besides, she wasn't an actress, and she hated being dishonest. So whenever it was save to show her real expressions, she preferred to.
She felt a little sad, her home becoming a tourist trap. What about all the natural beauty and splendor? Was it preserved? Or did idiots like Bulk and Skull get it turned into parking lots? But then something the woman said made her smile. "The Juice Bar!" she said, happily. "I think outside of school that was where I spent the most time. Some days I hardly saw home, but I saw my friends at the Juice Bar. Does... is Earnie...." she hesitated, not sure she wanted to know....
Re: ROFL.
Kendall made a face. "There's some gaps there. 20 generations, but for the life of me I can't remember anything else."
Which was obvious, considering RPM was not common knowledge, no one knew about SPD even in her time yet, and Alien was during a literal time reversal which Kendall wasn't alive for.
Addressing the other question, Kendall nodded. "The Juice Bar is still run by Earnie, and former Lt. Stone who remained there."
If she was from the 90s, it was probably pre-dating the attack that nearly leveled the town. So, a bit of tact was certain to be used. "There's a lot of prominent places from the 90s still there, and the parks and beaches are all maintained properly, if that'sw hat you're thinking."
Just had to research Stone. Still not sure on her canon point, though.
But the thoughts were derailed when she was told Ernie was still there. She smiled softly at that, it made her happy to know he was still doing what he loved. "Lt. Stone?" she asked.
She nodded a bit. "Kim and I worked so hard to keep Angel Grove beautiful, I'm glad to know it worked."
np, Stone was introduced in Zeo anyhow
"Your friend Kim, I take it you and her have been friends for quite some time?" asked Kendall curiously. She briefly remembered an entry on Kimberly Ann Hart from her recent history studies, and Kendall resolved to refresh her memory on much of California's recent history in the last 20 years.
"If we ever get out of here, and we meet up again, remind me to see if we can't get an audience with Lightspeed Rescue. They're Earth's first Government Ranger team, and made quite a splash back in 2001 or so. They do open tours of the rebuilt Lightspeed Aqua Base off the coast of Mariner Bay." Added Kendall, as she gestured down a street. "This way."
no subject
"Thank you, that would be fascinating," she said, while her mind was reeling. Government Ranger Team? And Zordon was okay with that? The Government was okay with that. And... why were they spending their time doing tours and meeting random people? Something still felt off about this whole thing.
She walked with the woman, still alert and aware. If this was a trap, she would be ready. But if this was a trap, this was the most elaborate and clever thing Rita had ever managed.
no subject
They were getting pretty close to where Billy was most likely at, and Kendall gestured towards the building. "Seems like one of your friends is there. I can let you go at the door, and I can be on your way. Since we're patched into the same system I can most likely be reached any time."
