Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

When did you come here?

Five months ago, four of which were spent without any other mutants on the archipelago. You can understand why I don't want to isolate myself here.

Even in our world where we may be alone physically, we're not the only mutants out there. Here, for the last twenty weeks or so, I was. It sucked, let's not repeat that.

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-02 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Is that why you invited me to live in your house? Not being isolated?

Part of it. The other part is that I assumed you'd want to get out of the people-trap housing as much as I did. If you're okay with the pastel gulag, stay where you are.

I know of you, Erik Lensherr. I don't know you personally, but Magneto isn't exactly an unknown name for us. You've done a lot for mutants and everyone else's awareness of us, both good and bad. As as Charles Xavier.

[The houses, as small and crammed together as they are, are a bit cloying, but he's not ready to commit to sharing space with anyone yet, especially strangers.]

Good awareness. I don't know that anyone else would put it that way.

[Though Charles still thinks he's capable of it.]

People, flatscans, will live their lives pretending we don't exist if they can. It's not the same kind of violence that you've been through, or the kind of mild apathetic disdain Xavier knew. But that pretense enables them to do things as horrible as the things you had to go through, with the convenient excuse of not knowing any better that he believes gentle education will help.

Your actions have made them notice us, and made them accept the fact that we live among them. But his actions have kept them from rounding us all up and trying to kill us. You piss people off, Erik; and while that's not entirely a bad thing, if you do nothing else people start to see you as a major problem.

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-02 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
[Start to? He thinks it's a little late for that. He can't be the only one who knows he didn't kill Kennedy, and they didn't hesitate to put him on the most-wanted fugitives list.]

What are my options then? Pretend I'm no different from any of them? Hide where no one can find me?

[That doesn't work either.]

Nowhere in that list is trying not to act like a flaming bag of dicks? [ Ahh, Noriko: what she lacks in subtlety, she makes up for in imagery. ]

There is something called middle ground. Be honest about what you can do, but not try to kill people with it? Ringing any bells for you?

Have you heard of the Sentinel program? I suppose you haven't. Our goal was to prevent that from happening, so it wouldn't be part of your history.

There was this scientist who took it on himself to experiment on mutants, and when I say experiment, I mean torture and kill. Friends of mine were among that number. Then he built an army of robots that could identify not only mutants, but anyone who had the potential to become one, as well as anyone who had the potential to produce descendants who were mutants, even if they weren't one themselves, and execute them. He even got a government contract to build more of them.

Wholesale slaughter of mutants, sanctioned by the U.S. government. If non-mutants are that willing and able to kill an entire group of people without a second thought, then why shouldn't we be?

Noriko was quiet and still for a protracted minute after Erik was done. She knew of the Sentinel program, had in fact been red-flagged by it. She knew very well what it was like to have the school, the one sanctuary many of them had in the world, become a prison with those things guarding the gates, watching their every move.

You have no idea what you've done," she said, more quietly. "Your plan didn't work, we have Sentinels. We've all been flagged by them. All you did was make things worse."
frankensteinian: (wait what did you just say)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-02 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[No, that doesn't sound right. He remembers the headlines, from the newspapers he'd pick up during the few days it took him to establish a new identity and leave the country.]

The government cancelled the Sentinel program and arrested the scientist who developed them. If they came back, it had nothing to do with me.
electro_kinetic: (angel)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-02 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
They didn't cancel shit for us. They're making us register as mutants, and deporting us if we refuse. Not that they can't name all of us anyway, there are only a hundred and ninety-eight of us left.

[ She won't say it, but half of her attitude (if not more) stems from all the things Noriko has gone through, most in the few years since she's made the school her home. M-Day, Stryker's attack on the depowered students, and the Legacy Virus all pile up on one another. It's wearing on them all, and the brawl Emma started between the students that were left, brutal as it was, only adds insult to injury. ]
frankensteinian: (listening)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-03 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
Registration? [Images come into his mind, unbidden. Hateful words painted on doors. Shards of glass glinting in the street like crystal. Names on lists. Yellow badges on coats and shirts.

Numbers on his arm.]

Registration is how it starts. That didn't happen for me. We were specifically warned that we had to stop the Sentinel program from happening. I saw the articles confirming its end myself.

Then we're from two different iterations of our world, because they're very real, and very much active for me.
frankensteinian: (sunglasses)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-03 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Which is not my doing. I've been living in Poland for the last ten years.
electro_kinetic: (Default)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-03 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Where did these Sentinels come from? Do you know the man who came up with them? [ It's lucky for her that Noriko doesn't know what happened to the one she dispatched; as far as she knew it was just gone. Sending something backwards in time, which she knows as strictly linear and forward-moving only, is not a property of massive electrical current. ]
frankensteinian: (over shoulder)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-03 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know where yours came from, but the ones that we were dealing with were invented by a man named Bolivar Trask.
electro_kinetic: (Default)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-03 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ She shakes her head. ] Ours were created by Sebastian Shaw for a government project. We must have split further back than that.
frankensteinian: (determined)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-03 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Sebastian Shaw.

[The images are back this time, worse than before, and with them the pain. The emotional pain of his mother being shot right in front of him. The physical pain of endless tests and experiments. The anger and grief that had propelled his nearly twenty-year quest for vengeance.]

He was a mutant. He tried to start a nuclear war.
electro_kinetic: (Default)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-04 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes he's a mutant, and a general asshole, but I don't remember him ever trying to start an outright war.
frankensteinian: (Default)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-04 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
The nuclear weapons in Cuba, that was him. And the Russians. He almost started a war.
electro_kinetic: (Default)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-05 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
What nuclear weapons in Cuba? There haven't been any in fifty years.
frankensteinian: (listening)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-05 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
The Cuban Missile Crisis? He was behind that.
electro_kinetic: (Default)

[personal profile] electro_kinetic 2016-11-06 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know that he's that old. He seems pretty...healthy for someone that'd have to be at least seventy. Or he can also regenerate, which would be incredibly difficult to deal with.
frankensteinian: (Default)

[personal profile] frankensteinian 2016-11-06 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
He could absorb energy. He used that ability to, among other things, keep himself from aging. He was no older the last time I saw him than he was the first time I met him.
