Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"The last few years. It's been happening slowly and for a long time I thought I was just seeing things." Her arms wrap around her torso. "I recently found out that other people can see it too."

Airy didn't know if she was born like this. She'd spent her whole life trying to be normal, if her powers worked purely on imagination then she might have made herself normal until it was to much for her to handle. Sadly all she had was guesses and theories and none of them explained how to control it.

"That's why I wanted to get away from everyone." She didn't want to hurt anyone by accident and while it really felt nice to talk to someone she also felt like it was a bad idea to stay in one spot for long.

A few years. That was enough to make her breathe a sigh of relief. Not a part of this place, then, just an unfortunate coincidence. Less chaotic than she'd feared, then, but still not good. And yet "could be worse" seemed to be a way of life.

Somehow, though, she couldn't help but feel some pity for the girl. She did know, after all, what it was like to have an uncontrolled gift.

"You'll never learn to control it if you isolate yourself."

Airy bit her lower lip as she struggled between leaving and staying. Ever since she hurt Mark she had be waging an internal war with herself and it was hard to say which half of her was winning. It wasn't a simple matter but over complicating it didn't help either.

"I'll have just as much luck if I do." She paused and glanced around her. Airy really believed that she might be able to figure it out if she had enough time alone. "I don't think anyone can help me with this."

She didn't know much about this world or the people who are brought here but it felt unlikely.

"The only thing isolation will do is teach you control in a vacuum. As soon as you step back into the world, you'll lose it all again. And don't think you can just stay away from everyone else all of the time for the rest of your life. You can't." That never worked. There was always something or someone that pulled people back to the rest of the world.

"If you want to give up, fine, but there's probably no way to be rid of it." Maybe try taking some responsibility instead of running away she very carefully did not say. "There are a dozen ways people teach to control your thoughts. Surely one of them has to work."

Airy got the distinct impression that she was being scolded. She winced slightly at a few of her chosen phrases, some of which hit very close to home.

"Yeah but I can't even do that yet... I don't have anyone who can teach me. This isn't normal." At least not where she's from. "If I tell someone I can do this they'd probably lock me in an insane asylum or something." They still had those right?

"I was suppose to go to college this year and I can't even do that." It's something she's still a little upset about. "I'm not giving up." Spoken like a stubborn child. "I'm just trying to find a way to handle it." Except Airy was trying to do it alone which was starting to feel impossible.

"'Normal,' I think you'll find, is vastly overrated." She raised her own hand again, the orb of red energy flaring to life immediately, but this time is just stayed there, hovering and dancing above her fingertips.

"If they want to lock you up it's only because they lack the imagination to consider anything beyond their own narrow view." And, therefore, they were beneath her consideration. They were only people. She was more.

She gave a wry smile at the girl's assertion, though, that she could handle it. She almost laughed in her face, but managed to hold it back.

"You can handle it? By running away? Forever?"
imaginationswoes: (The truth?)

Airy's gaze was immediately drawn to the red orb. She knew that most people didn't agree with her sentiments but she's always wanted to be normal. There were so many who would take pride in or try to force themselves to be weird or different or whatever word they choose to prescribe to it. Airy knew that the fad was simply because everyone wanted to be special but Airy never wanted that. She never wanted power or something so strange. She wanted to be happy, go to college, have kids and find something that she loved that she could put her heart and soul into like her mother had.

Now all of that felt like it was to much to ask and given the usual train of thought Airy didn't expect people to understand. Unlike most she found joy and happiness in little things, normal things that people usually overlook.

"They'd lock me up because they would be afraid." Her voice was softer and saddened. "People attack things they don't understand or things they can't control." Hell she was afraid and her plan was to lock herself away from others. "I didn't say I would run forever." Her voice was a little short, she didn't like feeling like she was being attacked. "Just until I figure it out. It isn't like I have someone who can teach me about this."

"So fight them back. You have a right to. Just because they're a little afraid of something you had no say in doesn't mean they get the rights to your life." The orb vanished as she clenched hey first around it, gone when she opened her hand again. No one ever asked for their powers--or for the responsibility or fear that came with them. They just had to learn to live with it.

"Someone here has to know how to meditate or something. Hoping it goes away until someone materializes won't solve the problem."

"I can't control it so how can I fight besides..." Her words slowly lost their fire a she continued. "I don't want to hurt anyone. Even if they are jerks. I don't think anyone has a right to put a valve on another person's life." In this regard Airy was very much an idealist. She was innocent, hopeful and pure when it came to her thoughts and feelings on the matter of hurting people.

No, the world wasn't perfect but she saw no reason to make it worse.

Airy began to pout looking a lot younger than her age. "I'm not just going to wait. I was just going to think and then maybe use the phones they gave us." She hadn't had time to look at it.

She almost rolled her eyes, but somehow managed not to. In her experience, no one ever amounted to anything if they didn't do a little damage along the way. And yet...

"I suppose that's better than 'no plan,' but it's still a little too passive for my taste." Waiting had never really been her strong suit. Doing was a much better use of her time.

"Whatever. It's your life. I guess we'll all see what happens." And she'd know who to blame once the panthers started hunting down citizens.

Airy frowned at the woman and then bowed her head slightly. "Excuse me then." She didn't like being rude and so she'd excuse herself before turning and running down the street. She didn't think what she was doing was passive but she didn't want to argue about it either.

It didn't manage to keep her mind from wandering through most of the conversation but Airy never knows how long that will last.
