Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!
3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Like today. She'd been buried under a mound of paperwork over these missing person cases and hadn't gotten out to do any patrolling. She had stopped for a drink on the way home (even though it wasn't really so much 'on the way' as two islands over); she won't stay too long though because Henry's at home waiting.
She's sitting on a stool at the bar nursing a beer when she hears a familiar voice order a drink.]
Neal?
[She seems more relieved than angry to see him.]

Emma? [He swallows, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. His finger lightly taps against his beer glass as he shifts in his seat. He has no idea what to say to her and he's a little surprised that she isn't yelling at him.
Neal would ask her what she's doing here but it's just his luck that Emma would show up here too.] Hey. [Smooth.]
Um... how long have you been here?
[He's usually not this awkward but there is history and he'd never planned to see her again. Even so, seeing her now, it's nice. He's glad that she's okay.]
no subject
It's been about five months.
How have you been?
[She's not upset, not anymore, and she wants to make sure he knows that.]
no subject
[Neal coughs and looks away. There is a moment of silence as he brings his beer to his lips and gulps down the cold liquid. It doesn't do much to settle his nerves but the time helped him think.]
What's the last thing you remember?
[Something is off and he's confirmed that timelines might be different here.]
no subject
[She's not sure the answer to that will help her narrow it down any, but it's better to start with the easy stuff.]
Another threat to Storybrooke. They never seem to end.
[Perhaps it's just the nature of the town, or due to the fact that it contains a Savior, but it does seem to be targeted quite a lot.]
no subject
[That's where he's been and he's yet to meet her again which is why he's feeling so damn awkward now.] Storybrooke? You broke the curse?
[That's all he can think of when she says threat and while he doesn't know the details he does remember what that man of wood had told him. He takes a drink, placing his glass against the counter top.]
So um... you've already run into me before.
[It might be obvious that Neal doesn't remember.]
no subject
Yeah. I have.
[She has already yelled at him, and doesn't see the need to do so now. Not about this, at least.]
I actually went to Tallahassee.
no subject
I have a lot to catch up on. [He's still unsure how he feels about that but Neal is used to oddities. It's what happens when you have Rumpelstiltskin as a father.]
Tallahassee. What did you find there? [Neal feels a slight smile tug at his lips but he tries to keep it in check. It is good to see her but it brings up confusing feels and uncertainties and he's not sure what to do with them. He's moved on or he thinks he has.]
no subject
Disappointment. [Like so many other things in her life.] I had hoped...thought...that maybe you would go there looking for me. I was mad, but we had talked about things that I had never had, and I wanted them. I...
I know why you did it, but I was upset about it then.
no subject
I would be too. [His voice is softer, his thumb lightly gliding along the outside of his glass. He isn't very skilled at sitting still without some sort of fidgeting.] I'm sure you've heard this before but I'm sorry Emma.
[He clears his throat.]
So where are we at now?
[Neal dislikes magic, he dislikes not knowing and this stupid business with timelines. He hopes that he'll tell him but at the same time he almost doesn't want to know. It's conflicting and frustrating.]
no subject
Do you mean where are we geographically, or...?
[She'll start with that first. It's easier.] We're in a place called Medietas. It's not part of any world you've ever heard of. We don't know how we got here, why we're here, or how to get home again.
[She takes a breath and dives in to the rest of it.] In Storybrooke, it's...complicated. [Not least because he's dead and not coming back, but she's not going to tell him that part. Neither is she going to tell him about Killian, so far away and who knows when she'll see him again, or even where that might end up. She's here now, and she knows what she wanted the last time he was here.]
I still want Tallahassee.
no subject
It’s odd to think that they are talking now. Emma is a part of his life that he thought he left behind but the more he listens to her, the more he realizes that he’s never completely forgotten Emma. He feels relief and tension since confirming that their pasts are the same though she has a future that he knows nothing about. It’s a lot to take in and while he’s accepted it as fact, he’s still processing the details more slowly.
Complicated seems to be a theme in his life. As much as he yearns for something simple it just isn’t his fate. This time when she mentions Tallahassee he can’t fight his smile and a little bit of the tension eases from his shoulders. It really is an amazing memory.]
Do you? Even after all this?
[He waves his hand as if that explains what he’s talking about. He means the future, their past. He isn’t sure he can forgive himself for leaving her like that even though, by some twist of fate, she’s forgiven him.]
no subject
It's what every orphan wants. [She's sure he'd agree on that matter, at least.]
You also told me that I should find Tallahassee, even if it's not with you. For years I didn't think I wanted it, but I do. Even after all this.
no subject
Then you'll find it.
[He can't stop his smile. She was so much stronger now and he is happy to see that she's found what she wants.]
no subject
[She might be the first person in his life who actually cares about that.]
no subject
The same thing... [He rolls his shoulders in a shrug.] You know, someday.
[Neal thought that he had a plan for the future but now he's here. He doesn't know how long he'll be here either and that worries him.]
no subject
Both of us. Although there is something I should tell you.
no subject
[He's pretty sure that she has a lot to tell him and really, he has a few things to tell her but then he wonders if she already knows.]
no subject
You have a son. His name's Henry.
no subject
I have a son?
[He doesn't mean to phrase it like a question but hearing the words spoken aloud and by his own lips made them feel more tangible like something he could touch. He clears his throat and tries his best not to look emotional.]
You said you ran into me before. Was Henry there? [He feels his heart lurch in his chest as a sense of failure settles over his shoulders. Is he just as bad as his own father? Leaving a son to grow up alone? It's a very real and heavy weight against Neal's heart.]
no subject
I knew we were going to find...your father's son. [Looks like they're ripping off that particular bandaid, too.] I didn't know that would be...you.
no subject
We didn't talk about the past much.
[He likes to keep his past in his past and one of the reasons he liked Emma was because she never asked.]
no subject
I remember the nightmares you used to have.
no subject
Yeah?
[His reply sounds breathy and unsure. He isn't sure if he wants to talk about it or not.]
no subject
I know why you had them. [The past has come up, so there's no need to mention it here if he doesn't want to.]
Henry's here.
