Inara Serra | Firefly

Exploring/Attempting to Leave

Even though she'd been on the island for a couple of hours, Inara was still under the belief that Mal had for some reason decided to drop her off on whatever planet she happened to be on. She hadn’t ever thought that he would do something like that, even though she knew she had caught him off guard with her deciding to go back to Sihnon. But it did bother her that she had no recollection of arriving there, no idea how she'd ended up on the boat. Had he somehow drugged her?

She hadn’t ever thought that he would be so petty, though at that moment, it truly didn’t matter. None of it did. What mattered was finding her way to the nearest port and getting off the planet and back to Sihnon like she had planned. She would deal with Mal and his pettiness at a later date, once she was drinking a nice cup of tea back on Sihnon.

She paused in the middle of the street, her fingers stroking the pendant around her neck as she looked first one way and then the other. She didn't rightly know which way she should go and the few people she had stopped to ask for directions had stared at her blankly, as if they had no idea what she was going on about. Now she knew there were planets were they didn't get many ships, but this place...It looked as though it was well above those planets on the rim, though unlike any planet she had ever been on. Surely someone would know what she was talking about.

She shook her head and pressing her lips together, she rolled her shoulders back and with more confidence than she was feeling at the moment, turned and moved right towards the person heading in her direction. “Duìbùqĭ, but perhaps you would be so kind as to point me in the direction of the nearest port. I’m hoping to book passage off the planet...”
