At this point, Lydia had come to terms with the realisation that this was, yet again, an instance where she could run into anyone. It shouldn't have been surprising at all, but perhaps it had been all that time away from home without anyone from the pack hanging around. She was almost more used to not seeing them at all.
Derek was probably one of the last people she expected to run into, and she couldn't pinpoint if there was a reason for that, or if it was just because it was Derek. But at the sound of his voice, clearly double-checking whether or not it was her, she did stop, turning towards the source, and pushing through the throng to meet him halfway. He was decidedly easier to find.
