Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!

3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Her hands go on her hips and she fixes him with a stare. "James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser. I am in some place I don't know, with no family but my infuriating younger brother, no idea what is going on, and ye think I should be excited about some kitchens?"

Clearly, she is not to be distracted. It's been this way since they were bairns, really - he's been bigger than her since about the age of twelve, but she's always had a way of cowing him with no more than a look, a tone of voice.

"Look, ye dunna have to worry about them," Jamie says. "They'll be in the same place ye left them." He casts about for a way to explain the situation so that she'll have some understanding - it's difficult, when his own mind still quite can't wrap around the concept.

"I've been here for months, Jenny," he finally says, understanding that the last she probably saw of him was yesterday, as far as she's concerned. "Time is strange here. We'll get ye back home to them, and they won't even know ye were gone."

“I dunna have to worry about them?”  Her hands stay firmly on her hips.  It’s not as much consolation as he obviously thought it was going to be.  If Jamie had a child, it wouldn’t be so easy for him to say she doesn’t have to worry when her husband and son are back an Lallybroch and she’s God knows where.  “How do ye know?  Ye’re supposed to be out collectin’ the rents with Ian, and instead ye’re here, and ye say ye have been for months when I saw ye yesterday.  Have ye been home yet?  How do ye know they won’t even know I was gone?”

He almost instinctively takes half a step back from her at the stance she's taking. That look, the hands on her hips, combined with his full name, it takes him back, that's for sure and certain.

"Aye, I have," he says firmly, holding his ground (if barely so). "I have, Jenny, and it was as if I'd never left. It was like wakin' from a dream."

Unfortunately for Jamie, neither back down or not backing down will make a difference for her, not when she's in the mood she's in. His words do make a little difference, but not enough. "Aye, and if I were in a dream and they were not, I'd still be worryin' about them. It's what you do, when you've a family. Worry about them when you're parted."

That, he can't argue with. "Aye, I know," he says, because he does. He's learned what she already knows, in ways he can't begin to explain to her. But he knows.

"Includin' you, ye big oaf." Can she really be mad at him right now? She's not sure. "Have ye just been lookin' after yerself then?" Men. What would they do without women to take care of them?

"Aye," he says, giving her a faint smile. "I'm doin' all right for myself. I went into business with an Irishman of all people, to make whisky. This place isn't so bad. But we'll get ye home, Jenny, I promise."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-07 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Well at least an Irishman knows about whiskey." An Englishman wouldn't, even if Jamie could bring himself to work with one. "Since I'm stuck here for the moment, where am I?"

He nods, more than willing to follow her lead. "It's called Medietas, it's a group of islands. In the sky, bizarre as that sounds."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-07 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wouldna believe that one if I hadna seen it myself." Or if anyone other than Jamie or Ian were telling her so. She knew what it had looked like upon her arrival, but hadn't believed it could really be true.

"What should I ken about these islands in the sky?"

"They're relatively safe," Jamie says immediately - well, they're definitely a lot safer in a lot of ways than back in Scotland. "No Redcoats to speak of. But sometimes, strange things happen."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-12 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
No Redcoats. That's good to know. It will help...well, it will help with something, hopefully. "Stranger things than waking up in an unknown place with no warnin', ye mean?"

[personal profile] brochtuarach 2016-09-13 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
"Aye," Jamie says. "Once or twice, some people have... changed. Acted strangely, for a short time, then reverted back to their old selves. I canna say why. And there's always a chance that you'll be sent back to where and when ye came from. ...and even come back here, later."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-14 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"At least being sent home would make up for coming here in the first place." She's pretty sure, at least, because then she would be with her husband and son again.

"I need to find a place to sit down."

"Be careful what ye wish for," Jamie murmurs under his breath. But then -

"Ah, right." How long has she been on her feet? He offers Jenny his arm.

"I'll take ye to my house, we can talk more there."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-14 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
She slips her arm through his. "Have ye been tendin' to your house, too?" She doesn't want to have to clean up after him. She will if she has to, of course.

"I dunna spend much time there, truth be told," he admits with a shrug. "And I stay out of the kitchen. You'll see why."

[personal profile] graciousflower 2016-09-21 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
"You never spent much time in the kitchen before. I dunna see it should be any different here." He'd been learning how to be the laird of Lallybroch. She'd been learning how to run a household.

"Aye, well, ye'll not wanna spend any time in this one," Jamie tells her solemnly. "Trust me."
