Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

2) I'm not sure what year it is here, but it was 2015 before I was on the boat, if that helps at all.

Hello.
Text message. Is that what it is called? I had assumed it was to be similar to writing a letter in all honesty. Such technology is not known to me in the year of 1945. It is common in your time?
- Claire.

And, despite all that, texting with a woman (she's assuming that Claire's a woman, at least) from 1945 kind of throws her for a loop. Which is why she sends out each text separately instead of trying to break it down in one cohesive message.]
1945? Holy shit.
Okay, so texting is a common type of short form communication that came from the use of cell phones. There's also email (aka electronic mail) which can pretty much be a letter that's sent over the internet.
The internet is pretty much a digital way to connect multiple devices, by the way. You pretty much have knowledge and access to other people at your fingertips with it. Also weird porn and cat pictures.
Most people where I'm from don't really write letters these days and tend to send texts or use another messaging system to talk.
So, not to be nosy, but is the war over for you already? Or did I just spoil that the war ends in 1945?

She reads each reply as it comes in, feeling yet again like a stranger in a strange land. A cell phone? Whether that refers to some model or something different, Claire cannot tell. And electronic mail? Like a telegram, which is a fairly new technology from what Claire understands.
Much of it she isn't wrapping her head around. But, it is also likely quite good that it is only text, given her start at weird porn and cat pictures.]
It would appear that technology has taken leaps and bounds from my own time. I fear I can only understand some of what it is that you are saying. And I cannot even begin to picture half of it within my mind.
You did not. I am aware that the war has ended. A short time ago, but all the same, it is finally over.

I'm 100% not saying you're old, btw, just that someone who's seen this technology roll out over the years is perplexed by it too.
[Good job at being tactful, Darce.]
Cool, because that'd be a weird thing to just randomly spring on someone.
[Unlike crazy advancements in technology.]

Yet it's end would be welcome to anyone who has been within, no matter what role it is that they have played.

I think it's more cool than frightening. There are definitely people who misuse it, but it's helped give a voice to the voiceless and put information right at your fingertips in an instant.
That's kind of what I've gathered from things I've read about it. [And this is where Darcy pointedly avoids bringing up any other conflicts that may happen in the future, because that's a can of worms she flat out refuses to open.]

I think the perspective will always differ depending on the individual. There were plenty of times when I did not think there would even be a future to return to. For many, there wasn't.
[Thinking of all the soldiers that she treated...]
It sounds as if it would make obtaining it easier. What types of things can you find?
