Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!

3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Thank the darkness?" That sounded ominous, but really what other choice did he have? She hadn't murdered him horribly yet, so at least there was that going for her. And she seemed just as terrified as he was. As much as he wanted to ask questions about catching winds and finding courts, there were other, more pressing issues he needed to take care of.

Like finding out where he was. And where his friends were.

He pulled the phone back out of his pocket and looked at it for a moment before he held it out to show her.

They gave me this but I don't know why. I couldn't understand them.

She shook her head. *They gave me one too. I have no clue what it is or what to do with it, though." She held out a hand like she was holding the phone, and it appeared. "I figured I would ask Shira to see if it was safe before I tried to figure it out.*

Black Widows had a stronger instinct, after all, and she and Ranon both had stronger shields than Cassidy. And if Cassie got herself killed, they'd find her, and kill her all over again for taking the risk. Which was nothing against what Lucivar or the High Lord would do to her, if she made her way to the Dark Realm while her people needed her.

Tony had been wandering around the various islands. He hadn't been here that long and it had taken him awhile to get Tali settled down and thankfully he had found a stroller so he was pushing her as he looked around for anything familiar.

Tony overheard Paige, his brow knitting as he listened. He didn't mean to eavesdrop really, it was just his gift of being in the right place at the right time.

"Hey, are you okay?"

"Isn't it dangerous to use random bits of things?" All the spells Alec had been part of were carefully controlled with specific rules. "I think that in my world it's intent and sometimes the objects used. I'm not sure. Most of my kin hate magic so we don't study it other than. This is bad. Don't do it."

Which seemed to be Alec's life story: doing the things that his kin hated. "It's usually monster attacks for Shadowhunters. Occasionally lost people." The results of those missions usually gave him nightmares. "Uh - if you see the Fae, could you warn me. The ones in my world aren't exactly happy with me."

Tony looked at the man warily, turning is body slightly to protect his daughter. Wow, his daughter. It was still such a foreign concept for him.

"I was gonna go with where are we? but hey whatever floats your boat. Good to know though."

It was utterly unusual for Anne to be by herself around the islands; once she'd found someone who'd appointed himself her protector, he really hadn't left her side. Yet, she'd left him to do some exploring, assuring him that she'd be fine.

So, as she walked along the sidewalk, she fully intended to be just fine - and, as she turned the corner and came upon a sight she'd never seen before, her eyes went wide and her mouth opened a little. The... creature in front of her was radiating frustration and, as she caught sight of the device in... it's(??) hand, she took a very cautious step forward.

"It's more difficult than they tell you," she offered with a hestitant smile, not sure if English was preferred or what would be understood.

That wasn't a name he knew, but he wasn't truly surprised by that. If "Shira" might know something, he might have to figure out who that was pretty quickly. He'd worry about how he was going to communicate with them when he got there.

He frowned as he continued to think about it, though. He only kept getting more and more questions, and no answers seemed to be coming.

I don't know why they gave it to us.

"Not if you know what you're saying and your intent is focused. Not in my world, anyway." He canted his head to the side, thinking.

"Spells are more like... holding points for will and for power, in my world." He nodded. Yes.

"Every world has different ideas, yeah. I've been to a dozen or so, and it's weird every time."

He blinked and nodded. "I sincerely hope we don't see any. They are tricky at best on my world, and malevolent at worst."

"It might be like that in my world. I don't know." Alec shrugged, wishing he'd paid more attention to warlocks around him but he'd been trying to seem as harmless as possible to Magnus' friends. "The only magic users I know have been practicing for centuries. They have a hard time explaining it."

Dozens of worlds... Alec had an idea that might be possible but the idea was still unsettling.

"The same in mine but I pissed them off so I'd appreciate a heads up... if it won't get them angry at you." He wouldn't want to drag someone else into the trouble he'd gotten tangled up in.

Harry nodded. "A lot of places, to make it more complicated, have different rules from those that are stated. Sometimes the people who live there are wrong, and sometimes hiding things. Either way, it makes understanding hard." He shook his head.

Harry smirked. "If they see me, they will probably already be mad at me for something. Might as well make it worth the while."

Sebastian looked up again at the change in tone and couldn't look away until it was far too awkward and Alec was looking over his shoulder. He held the map so they could both see it and realized he was too tense, he needed to relax. Glancing sideways at Alec he forced himself to breathe and not think about how close Alec was or how tall he was or what made him change his tone or why he was offering to help. These were all things he'd worry about before Jack. The why.

But the tone of Alec's voice was slightly comforting and he was in a new and different place. Maybe he should stop wondering why and start being more accepting. Jack would want him to be more open to the possibilities.

"If we're both new how are you suppose to help me find my way?"

I don't believe there isn't really a listing for babysitters from what I have seen but I am sure there are some around.

Khadgar had been on his way somewhere when he'd spotted the familiar sight of Durotan. He wondered again just what it was about this world that it seemed to delight in pulling important defenders away from Azeroth when she needed them most. As he approached he turned over the tricky issue of just how to communicate with the orc without Garona around to translate for him, then caught sight of the device held by Durotan.

It looked rather small in the chieftain's hands, but it did give him an idea. He poked at the communicator until he'd located something he'd seen in passing while exploring it prior, turning it on and hoping that it worked as he thought it should.

If he was right, then he and the chieftain should by all rights be able to understand each other without the necessity of a living translator.

He closed the remaining distance between him and the orc, coming to a halt just shy of arms distance. "Hello. I can sympathize I think with how you must be feeling currently." He suspected it was worse for Durotan, given he was even more of a stranger in a strange land currently.

"Can I see your device for a moment?" He asked, gesturing with his free hand toward it. "It has a translator. I can turn on for you."

Hermione was delighted to see the other girl. While she and Luna never saw eye-to-eye on certain things, they were comrades in Dumbledore's Army. So she greeted Luna in a hug.

"It's so good to see you! Have you been here very long?"

"Oh, I see." She was a bit disappointed, but she was sure someone could tell them the reason behind this fair. "I'm a bit out of my depth too, honestly." Not to mention she'd been doing something important just before finding herself on that boat, but there was nothing to be done about that until she learned more about this place.

"I'm Hermione, by the way," she added.

"Even if they know, they're not going to tell a Shadowhunter how they do magic. Or Mundanes." Magic had to stay mysterious, whether it was because of warlock rules or just to keep people from dabbling with forces they didn't understand.

"Still don't want you involved in a war. The Seelie queen might want revenge." Maybe. The Fae had more to deal with than him but they were patient beings that might have something waiting for Alec eventually.

So far she was zero for two, in favor of the eavesdroppers. "Hey," she returned, greeting the man with a bright smile. "I'm okay. Just not really feeling this island vacation, you know?"

Of course Luna has a hug in return since Hermione is a comrade,"A few months now, last thing I remember before the boats was escaping the manor and making for the cottage." she offered as a way to maybe fill in some blanks. "So far there's only a few of us here: me, Neville and Sirius plus someone I believe may be from a different era." trying to think of a way to explain Helga.

"I'm not sure if that's true for me," Paige said with an amused smile, "but it's a nice thought. I'm just grumbling about the situation. The island's nice and all, but not really where I want to be right now."

What she was saying didn't make much sense even by Luna standards. So she didn't know about being back at Hogwarts and leading Harry to the Ravenclaw tower? Hearing Sirius's name came as a shock as well. Hermione shook that off for the moment and tried to focus.

"I'll call Neville with the D. A. coin and we can talk about what's been going on. And I feel like we may need to catch each other up on what's been going on back home."

"Oh? Hmmm. A lot of people are like that. I tend to be the exception." Harry grinned.

"I prefer not to have wars either, but no one attacks others here and hurts them if I can help it." He pointed at the other. "Not her, not you."

*I don't know either,* she sent with a sigh, vanishing it again, letting her empty hand fall. *I don't even know what realm this is.*

"I'm Cassidy," she said with a warm smile.

She sighed and looked around. "I've tried asking people if they know anything about how I came here, but it seems to have happened to everyone else."

She nodded. "My Court is going to be going out of their mind with worry, if I don't get back soon. They're going to think I was kidnapped or something...." Again. She sighed a bit.

When the Mundane looked at him, he gave the being a tentative smile. At least he hadn't freaked out over Alec standing so close even if it was necessary so that he could see the map. He knew what the Mundane was staring but he mentally shrugged it off, knowing that he looked strange to most people even with his marks hidden. Someone once had said he looked like a ninja and even if wasn't true, he was dressed all in black and acted like he knew how to fight. It was intimidating to most people even if they didn't think 'Shadowhunter' when they saw him.

Too bad it was so difficult for Alec to seem like he was shorter or less dangerous.

His smile steadied when the being asked that question, reminding him of Izzy or Jace. They always questioned his observations, or had until he'd proven that paying attention in boring classes meant that he made connections that they hadn't. "Because I sat down and figured out the map as soon as they gave it to me. And I have a good sense of direction." He couldn't mention how but even without that detail, the comment was true. "I was taught to always figure out my surroundings whenever I end up somewhere new."
