Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!

3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Yep. We've been kidnapped by an unknown Power or Powers who have failed to show themselves to us, so far." He cocked his head to the side.

"So far, no efforts to go home have been successful."

"Uh-huh." That was swallowed like a coconut, i.e. not at all. "I would have thought I'd be more creative."

Pushing to her feet, she shoved the communicator into the backpack and stood up.

"Hover bike is a really cool effect, so A+ for effort on that." With all the animation she put in her tone, she could be talking about the dullest sport in the world. Golf.

"What do you--- do you think this is a delusion? Because I could totally see how someone could think that, but this is not, really." He sighed, realizing a delusion would say that.

He let the bike sink to the ground and stared at her. "So what do your delusions usually tell you?"

"I dunno, I'm kinda hoping for coma hallucination. Drug overdose was considered too, but I'm pretty sure my nose would be bleeding here too if I got fucked up." She wiped her nose with her finger, inspecting it afterwards to make sure there wasn't any blood.

"Especially with that 'Powers that be' shit. The only 'Powers that be' turned out to be a bullshit doll." She glanced around, before looking back at him. "Is there a noodle shop?"

There was the possibility of this situation having it's perks.
dresdensluck: (Y - trust me)

[personal profile] dresdensluck 2016-07-16 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Harry squinted, then blinked. "Huh, you have these sorts of delusions a lot?" He was curious with no judgment in his tone.

"Sorry, but there are most definitely Powers that be, pretty much in every universe."

He grinned. "There is a shop that sells awesome noodles, and other things too. Care to go see?"
artistwithasickness: (yes and?)

[personal profile] artistwithasickness 2016-07-16 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"And you call me delusional," she replied blandly at his assertion, under a brief lift of one eyebrow. The mention of them 'selling' food made her pant herself down until she pulls a black wallet, chained to her hip, from her back pocket and pops it open.

"Sure, if I can get something for four bucks and-" With a quick fishing in her pocket, Devi withdrew a few coins, a bottle cap and a crumpled receipt. "Thirty five cents. Unless they've got some 'crazy tab' offer."
dresdensluck: (Y - Smile 2)

[personal profile] dresdensluck 2016-07-16 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Harry grinned. "Not delusional, experienced." He nodded to her.

"I'll spot you today until you get to your house. The island spots you a little cash, until you get a job here." He nodded as he waved a hand.

artistwithasickness: (Really)

[personal profile] artistwithasickness 2016-07-16 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Great, retail. Just what I always wanted to do." So enthused.

"But thanks." No, she didn't really want to argue the reality or delusion that was Faith or 'God' or whatever you wanted to call it. The hand wave seen and openly noticed, but she wasn't sure what it meant.

"Are you.. telling me to get on?" She eyed his bike like it was a Deception. Probably with pincers.
dresdensluck: (Y - thinky)

[personal profile] dresdensluck 2016-07-16 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not all retail. There are other jobs in this place." he cocked an eyebrow at her, curious at her pessimism, and her words.

"Hmmm? No. Sorry. Was thinking out loud. I meant to say, shall we go? I can lead you to the place with the noodles. Or guide you to your house, if you like, depending on which one they assigned you." he chuckled. "Sometimes, my hands get ahead of my brains."
artistwithasickness: (pout)

[personal profile] artistwithasickness 2016-07-17 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Seeing how as I don't have a house, noodles will have to do. Lead the way oh wise one. You can tell me about the spectacular desk jobs then, with their killer 401 K that probably includes a murder suicide pack with your cubical mate.." There's that dry wit again.

"What did you say your name was?"

All is peaceful on the docks. People are arriving, trying to make sense of the situation they now found themselves in and hoping to get answers to questions that pretty much started and stopped with 'Why?'. Yes, it's a fairly calm scene under the circumstances..

Until a guy is heard screaming and dashing through people like he's running for his life. And he is running to save himself.

From a little, seemingly unthreatening Pomerianian.

"LOOK OUT. EXCUSE ME. COMING THROUGH. KILLER VAMPIRE DOG ON THE LOOSE."

Not far behind the man bounds the dog, barking and growling as he chases after King.
dresdensluck: (Y - stars and stones!)

[personal profile] dresdensluck 2016-07-17 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Harry blinked at her. "Didn't the people at the docks assign you one?" He pointed back to the people at the end of the docks, eying them with annoyance. "They only have one job!"

He snerked.

"Maybe not a 401K. And no murder suicide pacts. That would be silly." He shook his head.

"I didn't. People call me Harry."

My parents are English, actually, but I guess there's some ties to Scotland way back. When did you get here from?

[When, apparently, was a very important question in her life these days. If it was Jamie Fraser, his answer would be pretty telling.]

Well, yes. I mean, I can survive it... theoretically. I'm just not fond of prisons, of any kind. Even nice, airy gilded ones.

[Seeing the wary look, he smiled a little, trying to be assuring. He didn't mean to upset her. In any case, definitely a piece of conversation to drop.]

I am and I did. Like waking up from a dream, though in this case more like waking into a dream.

Devi glanced back at the dock workers. Had they? It was entirely possible that she hadn't paid any attention and missed something vital. She wasn't sure she could muster up enough fucks to care. Did it matter in a coma hallucination?

"Hard to find good help anywhere, isn't it... I'm Devi. I'd say it was nice to meet you but since I can't be sure you're really there.." She'll save that for another time. "So what kind of jobs then, if not retail and Corporate hell? Chasing faeries?"

This place looked like the kind of place that might have them.

[personal profile] artistwithasickness 2016-07-17 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Anyone with eyes and ears could probably see him running this way and despite Devi trying to scramble to her feet and out of the way, his speed past knocked her onto her ass.

"HEY!" she yelled as she fell back, glancing just in time to catch the little Pomeranian as it tried to vault over her legs. It snarled at her viciously and Devi held it out from her like it was dripping acid.

"It's like Bunnicula got ripped on steroids and hopped species," she comments softly to herself, glancing around helplessly. What the fuck was she supposed to do now? Didn't this thing have an owner? What'd the other guy do to piss it off? Could he take the thing back?

Devi had a lot of questions.
dresdensluck: (Y - hmmm)

[personal profile] dresdensluck 2016-07-17 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
"No worries." He grinned. "You're definitely the nicest person ever to assume I was a delusion." Harry nodded, rubbing his face. "Not that I've seen. A lot of skilled labor work, from police, to those functions needed in police staff, tailors, gardening, cooking, and just about any business you can imagine, well, depending on what it sells, it might work here."

He grinned again. "It takes time to learn things, but... yeah."

[ Her question elicits a short, humorless sort of chuckle from Jamie. ]

I dunna ken what it says about me that your question doesn't seem strange at all. But it was 1746, when I last left.

Isabela | Dragon Age 2 | Option #3

[personal profile] goodforsixthings 2016-07-17 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
Where there is festivities with free food and booze, there can be found Isabela. She's been adapting rather well to this new world, albeit missing the feel of the sea rocking her boat. She hates being unable to leave this place, just like she couldn't leave Kirkwall, but this place is both strange and curious. The sea captain doesn't want to admit that she misses her companions (even the mage), but part of her does, and being at the Faire does remind her of some nights they all spent at the Hanged Man.

During the day, Isabela can be found winning at cards games. She's sometime cheating, being an expert at slight-of-hand, but sometimes she's just that good at bluffing, or reading people. She's made a trade of it in her life, after all, and this place makes the game no different than in Thedas. There's a bottle of wine that never leaves her side, one that she shares if the person next to her is interesting enough for it, but mostly, it's one that she keeps filled for her own enjoyment.

At night, she's enough in her cups that she can be found dancing by the bondfire, her wine bottle in hand. If pleasant enough to her eyes, people might be pulled into the dancing circle by her hand, her smile warm and welcoming. She flirts as easily as she breathes and maybe, someone might get kissed (or more) by dawn.

Alright, fine. For a hallucination, he could have been worse and Devi cracked the smallest of smirks in response. It was start and better then the general lack of emotion in total that she'd shown thus far.

"I'm a fast learner." He could lead the way whenever he was ready, she'd fall into step beside him with her black, half tied, paint splattered boots. "Lemme guess, you've just got one of those 'delusion' type faces, right?" It was a joke. "Do people tend to be assholes to what they think their own heads have cooked up? Seems counter productive, to me."

And at one of those games, she'll find herself sitting opposite a man who not only recognizes that cheating, but who is a wee bit skilled at it himself. Remy Lebeau has never been one to deny another their right to cheat, and so he doesn't say a thing, but if he makes it a little harder to cheat, by turning up his own game, well, that's not unfair, now, is it?

Remy enjoys fleecing natives of their well- and sometimes ill-, gotten coin, especially one of the men at this table, a man who sometimes sold clothing made of pelts of animals found in the wilderness. And sometimes made of the pelts of animals found closer to home.

Remy'd seen this man and his merciless acquisition, and, well, Remy was no hero, but he did like to make people who got mean feel a little... pain. He was enjoying this game, not only to fleecing the wealthy merchant, but to challenging the player opposite him,a beautiful woman with skills he quite liked.

And as the latest hand came to a close, he smirked, tossing money into the pot. "Call."

Her smile made him grin back. He reached down to his bike as he spoke, tapping a spot between the handlebars. "Sometimes, people take exception to the magic." As he spoke the bike simply folded up as if it were paper and then he was holding a long staff made of white oak, capped on both ends with bands of old iron, and writ with runes across the whole of it.

He led the way down the road. "I'm not a subtle wizard, but I'm also not quick to anger, at least." And he nodded. "And yeah, sometimes people can be very much assholes."
