Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

The other jerks away and he regards her the space she needs. He is not one to impose unless needed, or worth his while in a jest, but she is a dear friend and he would never intentionally upset her; at least not in this moment for he, is very much confused, perhaps as much as she is with his own ignorance to what would happen within his future. His brow furrowed and the look of protective concern did not leave his features, very much it stayed right where it was and while he wanted to grab what was left of her arm, look it over, make sure she was healing properly and all was well besides the obvious, he didn't because it was obvious a fresh memory.

For her at least.

"The Exalted Council?" The mage repeated, nose wrinkling, hands dropping to his side, the feeling to pace rising within his mind but instead he tapped his toe, the hold on his staff tight, knuckles whitening. "I'm sorry, but for once, and please don't fall into shock as right now won't do well for a public display, whatever that is is lost on me. I only just saw you moments before I had a little unexpected ride across the open air and while I could only wish this was some slip of the fade it is very much not." The words exit him, flustered, frustrated. Dorian didn't like feeling like he had no clue what was happening, that much was obvious; so his eyes meet hers and hold them. "What happened to you?"

This is suddenly much harder than she ever anticipated it being. While Hawke and Anders misremembering events was something she could chalk up to either willful stupidity or calculated manipulation meant to throw her off-guard, she can attribute no such motives to Dorian.

Dorian has always been someone she could trust.

"I - " she begins, and shakes her head a little, unsure where to even begin. She glances around them, at the people milling about, and then back to her friend - who at least knows who she is, so that's a start.

"Come with me," she says finally. "It's a long story, and we should talk someplace more private."

And if he would have come from the same time, Dorian would had remembered, he would have not been so shocked but here he was, looking down at the other, protectiveness and awe, a complex emotion bubbling up within his chest wanting to do anything and everything to the individual who may have done this, to close his eyes and will the future forward, to delve into the magic of time and pull the situation out. He was not a man who disliked not being informed, educated on a situation and this was a perfect example; he was caught off guard, he was tense and it was obvious he didn't approve of it. His welling anger, not directed at the Inquisitor herself, caused a heavy breath, his brows furrowed, nearly narrowed.

He could feel the mana swelling in his blood.

When the woman told him to follow, he followed. She looked slightly different, hair colour, the shape of her lips. It wasn't anything he would rightfully question at the moment because she was missing her hand, the hand that would have saved them all, that did and his heart clenches because of it. It was clear she expected him to know, clear he didn't and as he followed her he kept in silence, moving along her side, staying close and gripping his staff tightly. If anyone would dare attempt to interrupt their path, it would not be a kind intervention on his behalf. For once his lips are sealed as his footsteps keep in step with her own, for once he has nothing to say, only the need to demand.

She's walking, but she doesn't like the silence, and so after a time she speaks up again - trying to explain.

"It was 9:44 Dragon when I was brought here," she begins - that should hopefully give him an idea of what is at work. "A lot happened, but it was the mark that ate my arm away. I was - finally able to get it removed, but the arm was beyond saving."

The silence is difficult but he's at a loss of words until the other begins to explain. The year was two ahead of his own, that was clear by what she mentioned, and it was obvious that in two years a great deal could happen considering what had happened in a year to him. Exhaling, his brows still furrowed he walked next to her, shoulders brushing as they moved through the streets of the unknown world. At least she was here, at least she was alive.

"You'll have to do better then the mark that ate my arm away and you know that." The mage murmured, eyes looking away from what was in front of them as they moved and down to her, the tightness of his mouth giving way to a frown. "What made such a drastic change that in two years the mark would consume you? Consume you enough to remove your arm in the first place."

Magic had a way with things; would the magic of the mark eventually cause damage, obviously it did, but he could have only hoped there was something to be done about it in the realities of life. It had been stable the last he saw her, which was not so long ago, within his own world at least, his own time. It seemed like time magic had returned, to cause another dilemma and he wasn't sure how he felt about knowing something like this could come in his future, if he ever made it back.

She sighs, shaking her head. "I don't - fully understand it, myself. But a group of Qunari began activating eluvians as a way to - to infiltrate the halls of power and start an invasion. I tracked them down, and as I did so, the mark became more and more unstable."
