Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

The other laughs and it rumbles through him where they are pressed together, like the sound of storms gathered from the electricity in his fingertips or the corner of his staff. The Qunari had enough strength to break more than several of his ribs and it was true, he never had in any of these odd moments scattered throughout time and space, now the same here, but in a different world, a different time where the politics of home where distant, far from his grasp. Silently the panic always welled within his chest, but externally he was the same man he always was. As Bull set him down to his feet he reached out to steady himself, placing the palm of his hand on the mans chest before smacking it with a huff.

"Not yet, but someone has to keep you in check!" The mage offered a grumble, but it was fond and hard to hide the pleasure in his voice at seeing another familiar face within the realm he had arrived in. Looking down to the box to where he placed it, he used a foot to slide it closer to the curb before turning his full attention once more on the massive brute of a man standing before him, crossing his arms and furrowing his brow slightly. "I came sailing in unexpectedly, a rather smooth ride then I realised it was on air and for once it left me more than speechless--shocking, I know."

Smacking the other again, predicting a quip most certainly, after a pause he murmured before gesturing his head towards the house, not really feeling up to standing on the street corner while he was enjoying his reunion, despite the fact he was fairly certain he just saw him moments before awaking on his little journey. Well, Cullen was here, that was at least a good sign, he hoped. He had yet to have the pleasure to see the commander but he was sure the solider had more than enough to say, to fill him in on. The Inquistor though, the idea of not knowing what happened between one point to another made him rather irritated.

"I've seen the Inquisitor yes, but not her other arm. Apparently it went missing between blinking and arriving here." There was a small amount of annoyance in his voice and oh how Dorian loved to complain, comment, and hear himself speak and Bull, well he had always let him talk, always had something to say in return that much was sure but with a breath he shot the other a small glare before looking him up and down and heading towards the tone, murmuring quietly. "It's good to see you too, Bull."

Bull was well aware of how strong he was and how easily he could hurt people with said strength. He liked to be aware of it especially in certain intimate situations because he never actually wanted to hurt people beyond the little haze of pain that was fun when you blurred it together with pleasure. He was also very aware of how delicate humans were when caught in the arms of a Qunari, so he was very careful with them. Especially Dorian. Add in the fact that no one here would consider them hugging blasphemous? Yes, he really didn't want to let go of Dorian so quickly but he knew how the man could get about his clothes being mussed up.

After setting Dorian down, he continued to grin and then even laugh as he got a little smack for his troubles. "And you're the one for the job, are you?" The question was said with a pleasant little growl that was warm with affection. He heard the scrape of hard paper against cement and glanced down at the box that Dorian was nudging towards the curb. Stepping back, he looked amused. "I take it those aren't up to your standards?"

He could have made a quip about Dorian being speechless. More than half a dozen comments, some of them insinuating that he was good at making the other man speechless, sprung to the tip of his tongue but, amazingly enough, eh held them back. Maybe in another time and place he would have but right now the situation was a little less than ideal. He knew Dorian had to be reeling somewhat from the sudden relocation from their world to another one.

"Right!" He nodded when Dorian brought up the Inquisitor's missing arm. "I noticed that too. Apparently we've missed a bunch of shit going down. She hasn't told me much but I'm guessing that the mark became a threat to her welling being." A pause. "Has she told you anything about it?"

Then he grinned at being told it was good to see him. That was something that didn't happen a lot. "I suppose it's pointless to ask if you missed me."

Correct in all his thoughts, it didn't mean that Dorian did not enjoy the attention, but if anything he was good at complaining, he was good at putting up that barrier against things he may want or was afraid to show but the hug was warranted; in his world they had travelled together often, learned to get over their problems and to the Bull that stood before him it seemed the same. That still didn't stop the mage from playing his games and keeping his walls up, even when it was obvious the other always knew they were there. His body still warmed from the contact and he was quick to straighten out his robes because if anything, of course his attire was as important as his nature; well groomed and very aware of his attributes, never ashamed of announcing them. While there was a moment in his mind that he wished the embrace would have lasted longer, it could have if the other might not have swept him off the ground like he weight nothing to him, which in fact compared to the strength of the Qunari he likely didn't.

"You know I'm the one for the job, can't have you running wild and ruining the Inquisitions reputation in this strange, new world, can we?"

His voice may sound sharp, but it was the fondness that lingered, that always did. The box contained a few items of clothes that had been in the closet, food that he would never touch and a few other odds and ins that came with the home. It wasn't what he was used to, it wasn't his library but he could at least make it comfortable and Dorian held no qualms about his opinions. So when Bull mentioned the items not being apart of his standards he stopped in his tracks and turned around to face him, crossing his arms over his chest. "Plaideweave is never up to my standards and if I've ever caught in it, it will only be because someone thought it would be a hilarious joke at my funeral."

There was plenty of time for jokes now, plenty of time to conversation that they liked to delve in, taking bites at each other over the distance of a journey, it was what they did, it was how they sustained but in the past Bull always managed to say something that would surprise him, or embarrass him as he was not a man with a filter, that much should be clear to anyone who came across him, not when it came to him at least, Dorian thought. He was reeling about the fact he was in another world, not his own, with still so much to do where he came from and that much would be obvious in the way he bit the words when speaking about the new world previously. Less than happy, more than little riled up and if he didn't have any control on his magic, there would likely be sparks.

"The Inquisitor is a big girl, she can handle herself I think she has proven that time and time again." But speaking about familiar faces, such as hers and Bulls, it echoed a certain calm, it eased his stress because it gave him someone else to focus on. "None the less, she mentioned something called The Exalted Council, seemed shocked I didn't know what it involved and well, now's missing a limb--something obviously happened that we were not privy to in our own time, but we have not spoken at length as to what that exactly is and I'm sure none of us wants to broach the subject of time magic after what happened last time. I worry for her, I'd worry for you, but you're not missing anything as far as I can tell besides your shirt that is a normal occurrence, now come inside and stop standing around like a lummox on the street corner."

Another jab, but none the less warm in reception. He continued his path towards the home, the empty, rather lonely space and as he stepped inside bristled slightly and looked ahead as he replied to the last comment, leaving the door open for Bull and heading straight for the kitchen.

"You should know the answer to that already."

Because he did.
