Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

No,we can. We will. We just have to figure it out, like we always do. [Of course he's worried about it, but the truth is...] He's not a problem we can fix from here, though. We're kinda stuck. In another Earth. Or-- I don't know that it's technically Earth, but-- [He waves a hand.] you get the idea.

[trigeminalheadache]

Another world. [ She wipes her face with the edge of the towel on her shoulders. It's not exactly comforting, that Cisco says they can't fix things from here. That he doesn't comment on Barry's death. But it's something different to focus on. ] What's to stop him from finding his way here?

[thisismadfreaky]

It's-- I don't know. I still don't understand a lot of it myself, but...I don't think anyone can willingly come as go here. [Or it didn't seem possible so far. He's debated trying to open a breach himself, but he hadn't even really managed it at home, he wasn't exactly gearing up to try something he barely knew how to do in a place he didn't understand.] It seems a lot more like it's a whims of the universe kinda thing. [For whatever that even means.

He pauses and finally adds:]

And about Barry? He's here, Caitlin. He's fine. So are Oliver, Felicity, Harry and Jesse.

[trigeminalheadache]

[ She listens, trying to trust in what he's saying. If anyone could find a way to bend the universe to his whims, though, it would be Zoom. Still, it'll be easier to fall asleep with a relative idea of safety. Of being able to trust that she isn't going to wake up to him looming over her.

When he says Barry's here and fine, her eyes well with tears again. ]

He's here? Then why— [ Feeling a few tears slip over her waterline, she tilts her head back and blinks quickly. ] Jay was convinced that Barry was dead. He said something about it happening while you were trying to recreate the particle accelerator explosion?

[The tears in her eyes tug at his heartstrings and if he knew where she was right now, he'd be going to hug her.]

Wait- what? Caitlin, why- why would we do that? [His head is spinning now, with this information, and there's a frown etched into his features.]

[trigeminalheadache]

To get Barry's speed back, I think? I don't know, I wasn't there.

[ She sniffles quietly and uses an opposite corner of the towel to wipe her nose. ]

All I really know is that, when he came back, he moved me up to Barry's lab to tell me. To give me privacy, I guess.

[thisismadfreaky]

[Only about half of what she's saying is making any sense, and he runs a hand across the back of his neck as he considers something for a moment.] I think you're from a different part of our timeline than me, Cait. Ahead of me, somewhere. It happens sometimes.

[trigeminalheadache]

What? [ Her face crumbles with her confusion. If this is true, then he doesn't know. He hasn't lived through the days, weeks, possibly even months, that she has. ] So this place brings us here, but they don't pull us from the same point? [ She sighs. ] Great.

[thisismadfreaky]

Yeah, it's kind of a mess that way. [He frowns a little, wondering just what she's gone through that he isn't aware of yet.] D'ya wanna come over to mine? Have some company? [Beats being alone, right?]

[trigeminalheadache]

Always. [ She nods. She'd never turn down spending time with Cisco. Especially considering that she hasn't seen him in a week. ] You may have to give me directions. I'm still... learning my way around.

[thisismadfreaky]

Yeah, yeah, of course. [Once he's figured out which island she's been stuck on, he lays out the directions she needs to get there.] ...and you can just stay on here with me on the way over if you want.

[trigeminalheadache]

Okay. [ She nods, fairly certain she's got the directions down. ] Give me a few minutes, I need to — [ Gestures at herself. The wet hair, the towel. ] You know? [ And then she's moving, going up to her bedroom. The device is put down on the bed, giving Cisco a view of the ceiling.

True to her word, it's only a few minutes. She's moving again, out the door to make her way over. ] So.. what is this place? Why are we here?

Yeah, [He nods and waves a dismissive hand.] 'course.

[He waits patiently for her to return.] Basically, it's another dimension. I don't think it's Earth, technically? But you get the idea. As for why...still working on figuring that part out.

[trigeminalheadache]

No one knows? There's not a prevailing theory about it?

[ She finds that a bit hard to believe. There seems to be locals around, wouldn't they at least have some sort of mythos about the people being brought here? ]

Is there anyone who's been here longer than anyone else?

[thisismadfreaky]

I hadn't heard one yet. Weird right? [He shakes his head.] I don't get it, either. But even the locals don't seem that helpful in that department. It's like they don't even remember their own history or something.

Yeah, there's a good handful of people, apparently the first group was pretty big.

[trigeminalheadache]

That's... okay, that's more than weird. Worse than weird, that's extremely worrying.

[ She pauses, glancing around to make sure she hasn't gotten herself lost. ]

So how long has that first group been here?

[thisismadfreaky]

Yeah, tell me about it. [He shrugs one shoulder.] Couple months? Maybe three.

[trigeminalheadache]

An entire culture or... civilization that doesn't know its own history? It makes me wonder if there isn't something about this world, this dimension, that causes something like it. [ She frowns, the expression creasing her brow. ] So not very long then.

[thisismadfreaky]

[He spreads his hands and shrugs.] I have no idea, it’s crazy. Even the stuff in the library is scarce on the actual history of the place. [He pauses and stares for a second.] Like something that makes them forget it all…

[ It's one of the things they do so well, working with each other, riffing on ideas. The process helps them get outside the box when they need to. ]

It could be something in the environment that takes the memories. Or—or there's a common thread, in food or drink, that causes the amnesia. Or makes them susceptible to believing that they've always been from here.

[ She's walking a bit faster now, so she can get to his place and they can do this in private. ] I wish there was someone here longer that may know more.

It's so wide open what could be causing it. Especially when you consider some of the people here can do magic-- like, real, legit, mages and wizards magic, it just adds even more to the whole realm of possibilities.

[He nods a bit.] Yeah, so do I.

[trigeminalheadache]

I would accuse you of overdosing on Dungeons & Dragons, if mages and wizards didn't make some sort of sense right now. Are you thinking that it could be... something gone awry?

[thisismadfreaky]

I don't know. It's possible, right? Something just...backfired and now this is the result.

[trigeminalheadache]

That's... an incredibly scary thought. And I say that fully acknowledging that we were part of a massive disaster.

Maybe we can investigate it. You know, later, after you've settled in and everything. [Because no way is he going to make her jump immediately in on this day one. Even if he's pretty sure she'd rather have something to focus on anyway. Adjustment periods are kind of needed for all the headspinny situational things of showing up here.]
