Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!
3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Brainiac 5 | Legion of Superheroes
Highly unusual, and the planet itself was not on any known start charts in the United Planets. He checked his memory, double checked, triple, trying to come up with an explanation as to why he was on this world, but there was no transition between him explaining the details of their next mission to his fellow Legionaires to the moment he stood up, and flew out of the boat aided only by his flight ring.
He is soon beckoned down by a greeting party, to which he meets with and complies with their wishes to give him an archaic piece of technology, which he examines briefly, but otherwise gives them this full attention.
Medietas? Absolutely no mention of it, as he suspected in his initial analysis. If there was a world like this in his galaxy, he would know about it. At least until he was informed that this was another universe altogether.
This gave the Coluan cause for concern, as the means for transdimmensional travel were not usually... stable. Or recommended.
Especially in the hands of a people so clearly primitive.
For now it was best to excuse himself politely, as he while he would love to point out the problems regarding allowing said primitive people to have access to technologies or abilities to abduct people from other universes, he had some measure of discretion and there was no point in talking to a these people who would likely not even understand half of what he had to say.
Hopefully the others who were abducted would have more to say.
Brainy moves into the city, choosing to concentrate on aligning his holo-comm to the Medietas network, rather than to have to rely on incompatible technology.
Network Post
Greetings.
I have come to understand that we have been transplanted from our home dimensions to this, strange and frankly illogical new world. Based on the scans I've taken there is no clear indication of any technology which would account for the reason these islands float, nor any substantial power source that would be a candidate for the device which brought here.
If such a device exists, it may not be in the same spacial dimension, or simply located elsewhere besides these five islands.
As for myself, I am Brainiac Five of the Legion of Superheroes. I'll do what I can to devise a means that we can return to our own universes, should there be adequate resources available.
In the mean time... [Grife, he imagined he may be very bored here.]
I will offer my expertise on any manner of subjects ranging from quantum physics to advanced stellar engineering. I am a 12th level intellect, which I presume would be better explained by stating that whatever your standard of genius is, they are a simpleton in comparison. I say that not to stroke my ego, but to state a fact.
In summery, I am very smart, and if you need anything that require aid in that regard I am at your disposal.
And as previously stated, given my position with the Legion I am also obligated to help where I can in law enforcement activities. I will volunteer my time to the police force or consult as necessary.
Brainiac 5 out.

And by that one I mean finding the source of what's keeping people here.
no subject
It may not be within our grasp, given the level of available technology. With such limited resources even I may have difficulty.
no subject
I've been in these situations before. You're not getting out unless they want you to get out. There's no technology that can breach the barriers unless they want you to. This is a Genus Locus.
no subject
His expression his mixed, annoyance, surprise also, but far less than his annoyance. Could it even be possible that nothing could be done? He admits it's far less likely for him to be able to be effective in a place like this than it would be back home with access to all the resources the Legion had at his disposal. It would be nothing to actually travel through dimensions with the machine he had just built.]
Any being that would be able to prevent such a breach is immensely powerful, as is bringing us here in the first place.
Is there a known reason?
Also... Other situations?
no subject
Very powerful. Godlike, even, but I don't think they're gods. Just really powerful.
Known reason... hmmm... shits and giggles?
Yeah. Getting trapped in a pocket dimension, alternate reality, nexus point, take your pick for a while. Sometimes a few days sometimes years.
no subject
...That is highly discouraging. Not outside the realm of possibilities. [Even magic, he had to begrudgingly admit, though it pained him, had been explicitly demonstrated to him. He does not care to recollect that incident.]
And how common is this? [Should he happen to escape, he may have to devise a mass exodus of kidnapped individuals away from these... Nexus dimensions.]
no subject
Nothing is out side of the realm of possibility. Somethings are less probable than others but nothing is outside the realm of possibility.
[Which he knows, being a probability manipulator.]
How common... hm... it depends on the type. Alternate realities are, of course, so wide spread that you can't spit without hitting one. Pocket dimensions aren't that common, it takes work to set them up or the natural circumstances to create them are rather difficult to trigger. Nexus points are about the same, but where as pocket dimensions are rather like a slight bulge
[He draws a glowing line in the air and then adds a small nobby bit on the edge of it.]
Like that. Nexus points, on the other hand, are cross over points between various universes or realities.
[Some more glowing lines, this time crossing over each other at a particular point which he then circled.]
These, if you know what you're doing can be artificially created or they can occur naturally, as well.
This place here, I believe, is an artificially created nexus point. Beings created portals or ... something...
[Vague handwave.]
To pull others here for some reason or another.
Rather like a black hole!
