T E S T   D R I V E   M E M E

Welcome to Medietas and our first ever Test Drive Meme! As we approach the grand opening of the game on April 1st, we thought we’d kick things off with a little something that will get you all interacting in the new setting! And it’s one less sample you have to worry about on your application if you’re considering our little game here.

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You’ve just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a … floating boat, with people you may or may not know? You can’t help but ponder what’s going on here, but the vessel seems to be approaching a harbor and when it docks, some lovely locals are standing in wait to greet you. After that they hand you a map and communications device and invite you to find your accommodations and explore.

2. Party, party!: On the evening of your first night in the city, a party is being thrown on Aerilon in honor of your arrival. Eat, mingle, dance, meet the other new arrivals! The locals put on quite the celebration!

3. Go Exploring!: There's plenty of places to explore, be it in your designated housing area, or on one of the adjoining community islands! Hike the mountains in Eurus. Sit on the beaches of Imber with a cocktail, or go swimming. Adventure in the forests of Mundus. Be careful though! Every area has it's dangers.

4. The Bells Are Ringing!: And that means a islands wide warning that something dangerous is approaching! But where the heck are they coming from? Nevermind that, the caretakers rally the children and the senior citizens while Scykal, Imber's local sea monster, emerges from the large body of water on the island.  Interesting.  He hasn't been spotted in a long time.  Help the locals defeat him!

5. Wild Card!: Choose your own scenario!

"Oh, I say! The wind is quite bracing, isn't it?"

Should Daenerys turn to see who's addressing her, she'll see Elizabeth, clad in her dark blue coat and sporting her sword in sheath and pistol holstered, resting against her hips. She's also smiling quite cheerfully, perhaps in assumption that Dany, a fellow young lady, could do with a friendly face.

"I've spent most of the two hours exploring, and it is quite pretty. But I'm still quite at a loss to know for certain why I'm here."

Stepping forward, she offers a little bob of a curtsey. "Miss Elizabeth Bennet. How do you do?"

A friendly greeting deserves friendliness in return, and though Daenerys has been given little opportunity for it in quite some time, she has always been quite capable of being personable and kind. Though she cannot deny it's somewhat intimidating, to be approached by one so well armed without her knights or her dragons at her side, the woman has made no threat towards her. Indeed, she is nothing but courteous, and so Daenerys smiles and dips her head slightly in acknowledgement of the respectful curtsy.

"A pleasure, Miss...Bennet?" she replies, the lilt of a question raising the last syllable of her name. She was uncertain, if it was the proper way to address her, or if 'Miss Elizabeth' was more appropriate. "Daenerys Stormborn, of House Targaryen. You're quite right, they're lovely islands. Magical, even. Still, lovely as they are, I object to being kidnapped, as I imagine we all do."

She canted her head slightly and gestured with her free hand, indicating the weaponry dotting her person, a sword and another thing she did not recognize save for that it had the look and feel of weapons. "It would appear you came prepared for battle. That may well be to your advantage. One can only guess at what the purpose of our abduction was, or the nature of our captor."

"Elizabeth will do." This is offered cheerfully, and truth be told it's possibly the most personable greeting she's offered to anyone she's met so far on the islands. Not that she hasn't been personable to other people, but Daenerys seems made of a certain mettle that perhaps reminds Lizzie of Jane.

"Quite, Miss Targaryen." Elizabeth is in complete agreement. "I haven't been able to fathom as to the purpose of why we're here and the natives had been dreadfully unforthcoming. I'm not altogether certain if their lack of information is due to true ignorance, loyalty to whatever brought us here, or or fear of whatever brought us here."

At the gesture toward her armaments, Elizabeth flushes. "Yes. Well. Where I come from, every able bodied person learns to defend themselves, you see. Though it has occurred to me in meeting others that we are not all...from the same place?" She's not sure how else to put it. "I see that you lack for such accourtements, Miss Targaryen. As such, it would be remiss of me not to offer my assistance until such time as you've your own means of certain protection. Ladies must stand shoulder to shoulder in light of such matters as mutual protection, mustn't they?"

"Daenerys will do," Dany replied in an intentional echo of Elizabeth's introduction. A queen she might have been, but this place was not her kingdom, and this woman was not her subject. Her many titles, she suspected, meant nothing here.

"My apologies, I did not mean to embarrass you, Elizabeth," she offered, noting the faint pinkness that colored the other woman's cheeks. "I do believe you're right. Upon arrival I met a very large man with very large horns, which was quite a shocking sight. The manner of dress I've seen on many others is very different from what I am accustomed to."

Though nothing and no one had threatened her safety thus far, she didn't at all mind the idea of having company for a time. "I fear I never learned to use a blade," she admitted, carefully folding her map and tucking it away for the time being. "Women rarely do, where I am from, though there are exceptions."

"I have heard that more and more as I have encountered others in this peculiar place." Elizabeth admits, frowning. "I suppose if there is no direct threat of equal proportion toward the gentler sex, we've no need of it. But I think I would not be the same person at all for the lack of blade and bullet."

She shrugs it off though, focusing on the matter of their present circumstances. "Is that a map? Are you drawing it as you go, or did someone give it to you?" Lizzie can't help but sound hopeful.

"That's a fair point," Daenerys declared with a soft hum of amusement. "A very fair point. I confess, there have been more than a few times in my life I would've benefited from knowing how to wield a sword. Perhaps I'll try to pick up the skill while I am here."

She tilted her head slightly, and gestured to the pocket she'd tucked the folded parchment into. "It was given to me upon arrival. Its primary purpose, it seems, was to lead me to my lodgings, but I wanted to explore a bit first. I wanted to see the edge of the islands for myself."
