There wasn't much conflict at all for Tommen. He'd failed everyone. Never as strong as his mother wanted, nor as Margaery deserved. It was just...he couldn't bear to see anyone die so he could get what he wanted. As much as Cersei manipulated him, she could not make him like herself or his brother. It was like he was stuck in limbo; weak-willed enough to be pulled one direction and then another, but still enough himself that he never gained the ruthlessness to make his wishes reality. Definitely a bad combination.
Margaery's explanation of how this world could take you from death made his mind reel at the implications of it all, but he had to admit to himself that she wasn't lying. They were both here, and they were both alive.
