Elena took one of the packages and opened it, immediately tearing into one of the steaks with her teeth. She devoured the meat, and even cracked open the bones to gnaw on them before finally dropping them and moving on to the next. She had planned on leaving some for the woman's dinner, but the call of flesh had her almost hypnotised, just enough that she could stop herself at the meat and not reach for the woman's arm next.

After her little feeding frenzy, she hung her head. "I-I'm sorry... I hate that I'm like this..." It was utterly humiliating. In a way, it was actually easier living in the post-apocalyptic waste she came from--when people died every day, eating them was a matter of keeping the waste from bringing disease. Chewing through an entire dinner party's worth of meals offered to her by someone kind...that was ridiculous.
