Neal was silent for a long time. His dark eyes regarded August with a passive cold stare as he sorted through what he knew through life experiences and what he'd recently learned. They both know how much it sucked growing up without a father.
After another long second Neal spoke. "I believe you. Forgiving will take longer but it's my problem. Not yours." At least that's how he saw it. "Why were you in hiding?" His finger glided down the side of his beer before he looked back over at August. He felt as if secrets between the two of them was pointless now. He wouldn't call August a friend but next to Emma he's known Neal for a long time.
