Welcome to Medietas! Have an interest in joining the game? Maybe you have an old muse that you want to dust off? Or, maybe you're just looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting among friends? Well, whatever the reason, this is where you can do that!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You've just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon, via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, now that you've arrived and wandered around the starter home you've been given, it's time to check out the rest of the islands. There's a market on Aerilon that is full of treasures. Or, you can check out Chapter Six bookstore. Perhaps you wander over to the Mean Princess facility on Mulciber. There is so much to see!

3. Event: Teams are being put together to venture out deep into the islands of Eurus and Mulciber to track and destroy a vicious beast who has been the reason for the disappearances of several island locals. Please help stop the creature before anyone else goes missing!

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

"Thanks." It was a murmur, one that was quietly appreciative but didn't intend to dwell too much on it. He was glad to see them both, that was all there was to it.

He helped her tie it up behind her, then looked assessingly at the car before them. "It's a shitbox. You can say it," Adam chuckled. "Gansey's sister gave it to me. She said she was going to donate it, but paying for towing was going to be a pain."

A likely story.

"It runs. Not great, but it definitely runs. Want to hear it?"

Cars were not on the long list of things Lorna knew anything about. She could tell Adam all about the metals that made up his machine, but nothing about how it ran. So she wasn't sure what listening to it would do for her, but Adam was clearly excited and that pleased her. She could bear being a little lost for him to have the joy of explaining.

"Yeah, start her up."

For her, he'd be happy to explain whatever she wanted. Wiping his hands off on his thighs, he shot her another pleased look, then popped the driver's side door open and slid in. The keys were already in the ignition, so all it took was a couple of tries before the vehicle revved up. It was no show car, nor an old-school muscle car, but it had a good rumble to it. His doing, of course. He could still tune it up better than he could drive it.

Once it was running, he poked his head out of the door, his right ear tipped towards her so he could hear her over the car. "How's that?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's not bad!" Lorna said, smiling broadly. It warmed her heart to see him happy. He'd been through so much, and that was just what she knew about. "I'm surprised how good it sounds." It seemed like the right thing to say. The car wasn't audibly falling apart and that seemed like a small miracle on its own.

"You and me both," he laughed, leaning back in the seat for a second before reaching out to cut the engine. The Hondayota rumbled back into silence, and Adam slipped out again.

Lately, there was just something about the islands that made him feel decent. Not blessed, per se, but like he was on the right track. He had a couple of friends - not the ones from back home, but still - a home, a car, a shop. A couple of good jobs. He'd done a lot of stuff for himself, and he was attacking the mystery of the islands head-on. He was allowed to give himself a break.

"So when'd you get back?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Today. I made some lunch and came right over." She looked sheepish, but not for long. "You're my best friend and I was worried you'd been sent home too." She paused, then added, quite quickly, "Not that I want you to stay here forever and never see your home again, but I would miss you if you were gone."

"Wow," he murmured, looking both flattered and impressed. And a little embarrassed. "Thanks.

"I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon, at least. And I get it, don't worry." It was one of those 'if I have to be here, I'd love company that I like, but I hope that none of us are here forever' kind of things. Ronan had disagreed the last time he was there, hoping that no one showed up from their world. It still stuck with Adam, the realisation that he was still a hell of a lot more selfish than his friends. He just kept it silent and tried to check himself.

"I missed you too, by the way. Did any time pass for you? You still look ready to pop," he pointed out.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Lorna chuckled a little, but let that part of the conversation drop. She'd decided that if he was here she would be his friend, but nothing more. He deserved to focus his attentions on people who were at the same stage in their life.

"No time passed. I'm tired as hell and hope the next month goes by fast." Lorna rubbed her back for emphasis. What she wouldn't give to sleep on her stomach again. "Oh, uh, there's a new guy here, I think it might be best for you to avoid him for a little while. I knew a version of him and he's. . . well he's not the nicest person." She thought about what Magneto was capable of and had to suppress a shudder.

Considering Adam was one of those who generally accepted that he wasn't built to be a popular guy, he was a little impressed with how many friends he'd accumulated. Especially in Lorna, who had been much more than just a best friend for a while there. He wasn't going to complain if she decided to change things with them, nor would he force anything; he was just glad he still had her, and that they'd had fun while it lasted.

He'd opened his mouth to reply when she pointed out there was someone else here. Given how quickly she'd made her way over to his, it was a wonder she'd had time to find said person. "Yeah?" Adam asked, with a thread of wariness tying through the question. "I might need a description. So I can avoid him accurately."

Or investigate.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
They'd met on the ship. It was hard for her to avoid her father. "He's tall," she held a hand above her head to show how tall, "Red hair and beard, answers to Erik. He's-"

She took a deep breath. This was only fair. Adam had shared much about his past already and she'd shared almost nothing. "He'll be my father. He's not a nice man."
parrishing: (neutral | are you sure)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-06 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Noted. All of it, noted, acknowledged with a faint nod of his head. In the back of his mind, he realised that she had sort of hinted that her father's name was Erik. They'd talked about baby names once, and though it had been subtle, it had been there. A reference to not wanting a baby named Erika to be like her father.

And now said father was here.

"How do you feel about it?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That was a good question. Lorna twisted her hands together, her shoulders shrinking inward a little. It was subtle, but to another person who'd lived in fear it would be obvious that she was afraid. "I'm not sure. I hoped a gentler version of him would arrive if any version did. If he can't coexist. . ." She'd have to kill him. It wasn't what she wanted at all.
parrishing: (neutral | i'll tell you what)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-06 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He reached out when she started to shrink in on herself, carefully taking one of her hands so he could squeeze it. She wasn't alone. He couldn't do a lot for her fear, but he could at least keep her a little safe. "Do you know which island he ended up on?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-06 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
She held tight to his hand and took slow, measured breaths to clear her head. It was good to be reminded she wasn't alone. "Imber." She wouldn't tell him what house number. He'd have to investigate that himself.
parrishing: (neutral | telling you this)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-07 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Move back in with me. I haven't changed anything," he suggested. For the time being, knowing that the island wasn't this one was good enough for him. "He doesn't know me, so he won't know where you are unless you tell him, right?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Lorna nodded and laughed a little too release her nerves. "Do you still have my stuff?" Changing topic seemed like a good idea. No sense wiring about things she had no control over.
parrishing: (happy | fond of this)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-07 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I do. Couldn't bear to get rid of any of it. What would I have done if you came back?" He asked, tone lightening as well. He offered a small smirk. "And here you are. Good thing, huh?"

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Lorna smiled back, the tension bleeding out of her shoulders. They'd be okay. She was sure of it. "Thank you. You're a wonderful person. I'm lucky to be your friend." She squeezed his hand, but this time not out of fear but comraderie.
parrishing: (neutral | on the side)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-07 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
He squeezed her hand once more, offering a wider smile as he watched her relax a little bit more. It was nice. "And I'm just as lucky to have you around. If not more," he told her quietly, fondly.

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-07 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Lorna felt a surge of contentment. She smiled widely at Adam and motioned to the car. "Let's see what we can do for your shitbox."
parrishing: (happy | picture perfect)

[personal profile] parrishing 2016-11-08 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"All right," he laughed, turning back to the Hondayota fondly. "What're you thinking? Short of new paint, maybe a new bumper, and a major tune-up."

[personal profile] magneticxman 2016-11-08 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, there's some corrosion in the. . . uh," She stopped and laughed. "Here, let me show you."

Without further ado she went to the hood of the car and opened it up. This, she thought, would be quite the learning experience.
