The echoes in that room, Final Visitation, hearts hammering and relieved sighs are still echoing in his ears over the sounds around the port, over the mechanized voice emanating from his device, giving him his bunk assignment. It's only been a couple of months on the inside, but he's already thinking in terms of Fox River: he wonders if he'll have a cellie. He's already scanning the docks for signs of a way back.
Because Lincoln's face is in his eyes still--slick with fearful sweat before the black curtain dropped over his features, bone white and fragile as he's led back into the room where he waits with Veronica for answers, too weak from adrenaline and relief to stand on his own.
Right now, as his situation just begins to settle over him, Michael's only aware of two things.
His brother's still alive...and he needs to find a way back to Fox River to finish what he started.]
4. Wild Card
Michael decided to explore Aerlion because it's a central location: the main marketplace is there, it's the seat of arrival for all newcomers...and the palace is there.
He didn't do much in the way of casing the bank before he robbed it. He didn't need to: the whole point was to get arrested, but he had to make sure the act was convincing. He needed a plan...just not a very good one.
This one has to be laid out far better, and so he spent a lot of time on Aerlion. He bought food at the stalls and had lunch outside the castle, watching the gates and walking around to survey what he could of its layout.
He knows what he's facing...but he can't quite give up on the hope of seeing his brother again, saving him like he's supposed to.
And if there's a way out of this place, the people in charge are probably going to be the ones who can provide it.
