The subject of Hodge was forgotten almost immediately. The second that Alec gave her the look that he did as he hugged her back. Some of the reactions that he had...were strange to Izzy. She didn't understand it, and even as he explained it (she was pretty sure that was why he spoke up, anyway) Izzy blinked twice before she even processed the words. "What do you mean that I don't hug you?" Her tone was a mixture of confusion, offense, and maybe even a bit of trepidation. Izzy didn't go around hugging everyone by any means, but her brother...when it was warranted she was more than comfortable hugging him. "I hug you...relatively often." She muttered, nose wrinkling.
What the hell did that mean? She didn't let anybody in? Alec was the one that wasn't extremely social. She, in comparison, was the social butterfly. Never in her life had the nephilim heard that she didn't let people in. So, she had to question herself, internally, as to whether or not that was true. Did she not let people in? Maybe some of the social ability that she had was for show. She wasn't perfect. She didn't think that she was that bad, though. And that was what she settled on for the moment because the differences that they had discovered already. His Izzy...had to be different, then, which made her feel...strange, truth be told.
Izzy backed up, ever so slightly, her arms crossed...maybe still a little bit in her head. For all of the confidence that she had there were some chinks in the armor of lipstick and perfectly tailored and fashionable clothes. "I think that's another one of these differences." Okay, her tone definitely was somewhat defensive. She almost felt as if Alec might be disappointed in her, or something. She knew that was stupid, but the thought ran across her mind anyway. Truth be told, though, Izzy was happy with who she was. She'd changed as needed, to fit into the roles she needed to step into for Maryse, for whoever, but at the core of it all she was always herself. After all, she'd accepted Clary much faster than her brother had.
The preoccupation was there, so Izzy couldn't help but shrug at the conversation that Alec referenced. She didn't remember it, much like most of the other things that he thought she would remember. It just wasn't the way that things had happened for her. She couldn't help that, and yet there was disappointment anyway. "What did you want most because I don't have that memory, just like all of the others?" She knew him, but she didn't know him, not like she thought she did, anyway.
"I can see why you were the better choice. How did it go when Jace used it then?" Izzy asked, unable to help the curiosity as she leaned forward slightly to study the second, and just as strange, rune that her brother had to show her. It...made sense on some level, but at the time it seemed so big too. Frowning, Izzy leveled her brother with a look. "More angelic than the rest of us...that's descriptive." Izzy stated sarcastically. She didn't know what more angelic meant, though, not really.
