But she could yell at him later, because this wasn't the version of him she expected to try something. She didn't know what risks he took to get her to safety at the last minute, but he had a very, very long time to think about how to do it without sacrificing anyone else. And clearly he didn't sacrifice himself. So she'd be mad at him later.
The questions concerned her more, as she did her best to stand tall against the pain. So much pain. Her vision had narrowed until all she could see was him ahead of her, his back, that hair. One regeneration he was going to have actual hair, not cartoon hair. Not that she was one to talk.
"Guess that took more out of you than even you expected, then, Doctor?" It took all her self control to keep herself standing, to keep the pain from her voice as she teased him about having gotten himself lost saving her.
