Re: Kubo | MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS!

Festival:

The young boy had not been here overlong, his stringy hair falling over his eyepatch as he moved to the center of the crowd. He hadn't been here long at all, but already his stories were getting some attention. He took his usual spot and checked the strings on his shamisen. Two were thick and black, one was thin and white. All were special. His father's cloak on his back, papers tucked into his sleeves, he brought the plectrum down sharply, a single note to draw attention.

"If you must blink, do it now." He gave a dramatic pause. Then he smirked at the crowd. "Pay careful attention to everything you see...." as he spoke blue papers came flying from his sleeves, forming a moving cyclone around him, obscuring him. "No matter how unusual it may seem," he added as more colors joined the blue, adding green and red and gold to the mix.

"If you look away," he warned, "Even for an instant, then our hero," he said, as the papers came down at the point, then formed a platform, lifting him up above their heads. His mother was right, he was getting stronger. "Will surely perish," he said, dramatically as the papers dropped him to the ground and flew out in all directions, as though he had lost control of them.

But any who had seen his shows this past week knew that there was more yet to come. He strummed again and the papers moved once more. Red pages formed themselves into an origami samurai. Black and orange a beatle man with a bow and swords. Pink and white a monkey. White and silver folded themselves into a ball and inflated, moving to hover like the moon behind them.

"This is a tale of heroism, an epic journey. But be warned, watch everything, no matter how strange," he said, playing as he moved in a slow circle to face every side of the crowd. "And do not blink. Only you can help our hero find the proper end to his tale...."

Of course, Kubo wasn't so great at endings... even now that he had sort of had one of his own...
