Khadgar occasionally watched the boats as they came in, mostly out of curiosity than out of the hope that he might see someone he knew arrive. He'd seated himself off to the side, a small bottle of ink resting beside him, a open journal in his lap and a quill in his hand.

The observant might notice a couple drawings on the page, one of the docks without boats offloading the new arrivals and one where they were disembarking. The latter was still in an obvious in-progress state. He noticed the young man as he seemed to carefully observe the docks and when the boy drew closer to Khadgar's position, the mage spoke up.

"You seem rather calm. Have you done this sort of thing before?" This sort of thing being the experience of getting kidnapped into another world without notice of said kidnapping until after the fact.
