Unaware of his appreciation, the dryade continues to sing softly to the tree, loving it with her whole heart. Nymphs are minor nature deities; rather than having the full powers of a goddess, they hold sway over particular elements of nature. Eurydice is a plant nymph, a dryade with an affinity for oaks. She's imbuing the tree with good health, checking that it's not ailing in any way, and thanking it for allowing her to do so.
The tree is responding to her because that is simply the way of dryades.
After a few minutes, the oak's foliage is slightly more green, its bark a richer brown, and there are several new leaves crowning her auburn hair when she jumps lightly to the ground.
Smiling sweetly up at her companion, who is standing by her discarded chiton, she says, "Thank you for waiting. He's a lovely tree, and it was my pleasure to tend to him."
Eurydice has missed trees greatly in the Underworld.
