Harry Dresden | Dresden Files Books + CRAU

1 - Stab Boat Harry stared at the oncoming islands with a sigh, a resigned sigh. "Really? Here and now? I gotta do this thing again?"

Floating islands were new, but appearing somewhere new he had not planned to be was growing all too familiar. He stared around him, then back at the islands, and wondered what the spiel would be this time.

He had been trapped on an island before, and that was no fun at all, but he was hoping this was no Neverland.

Besides which, he thought, as he sank down again against the side of the boat, he was in no condition to save the day, this time. He groaned as he kept one hand on his side and closed his eyes. He really wished he had brought his field kit this time. All he had were his battle items, and those helped not a whit when he was bleeding all over the deck like a stuck pig.

Hellfire.

He had managed to evade most of the problems of his older self, and change the timelines, both for himself and for a few of his alternate selves, but apparently, he was supposed to get attacked or hurt after the Red Court war in most timelines. Only this time, instead of ordering a hit on himself, a former employee of Gentleman Johnny Marcone had attacked him with a Feyknife. He didn't even dare remove the damn thing, because it was in too deep.

He had fought the man off, but that didn't keep Harry from being in bad shape when he vanished from the ambulance and appeared here.

This was so how his life went, though, really...

A week later, Harry was feeling much better, and he had found his skybike, powered by something that he couldn't really figure out, working at his place, after he was released from the clinic. Thank the powers for small favors.

He was putting around the island looking at shops, and trying to decide what the heck he was going to do next. His staff was secured in a holster on the side of the bike, which resembled an old World War 1 motorcycle, which was what it was made from. His helmet was all white, was was the duster coat he wore.

He was definitely open to being bothered.
