Test Drive

Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!

You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!

How To Play:

→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!

Possible Scenarios:

1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!

2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon. Or, attend one of the many block parties!

3. Lost!: Somehow you got yourself turned around and confused and getting back to where you want to be is looking impossible.

4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!

Podrick was out buying things, thoughts clouded by old memories, trying to balance living in this new world with his values from the old, and sometimes finding them at counter, and sometimes at balance. Which was vexing, and problematical to someone who considered himself both honorable and good, when he tried, anyway. And also a failure. But here, he wondered how his beliefs from Westeros could survive in this entirely unlike Westeros world. How could he be both himself, and yet survive in this place?

He shook aside such thoughts, and focused on his shopping list, looking for ingredients to make a new kind of stew for his housemates and hoping they all liked it.

When he cam around a corner, he stopped as someone ran into him, and then put out a hand as if to gently help them. "Miss are you okay?" For she looked a little... lost. "Should I get help?"

Her head lifts, and she blinks at Podrick once, twice, looking like she may have only just realized there were other people streaming around her like a river around a rock; she doesn't look scared of him, though. Just curious.

"Do you think you need help?" she asks, voice stilted in the way that shows she hasn't had a lot of experience talking to people. Out loud. And that she doesn't really know what else to say.

He blinked then grinned. "No, I meant for you. You seemed a bit out of it, miss. I was concerned."

And he was, for her answer made even less sense. Unless she was from some place even odder than most?

"Are you alright?"

She merely made a considering sound at that, teeth scraping the inside of her lip, shaking her head as she turned back to where she was heading.

And then, four steps away, a voice in his head: Don't be worried. I'm not hurt. Just walking.

Podrick blinked, touched his head, then followed her, curious now. "Walking is good. Ah... how did you do that?"

Was he hallucinating now? His head hurt.

It's easy.

Her footsteps were light on the ground, and she watches carefully where her feet go: her feet are bare and barely hovering over the ground, a scant half an inch above the surface. You're not hallucinating.

"Wow." Podrick followed, and shook his head. "I guess it's not stranger than white walkers or men coming back from the dead." He smiled a little.

"I'm Podrick."

I've never been dead, her voice lilted, and she kept going, though her brows creased faintly as she wove through people. Just frozen.

When he mentioned his name, and she could feel and understand the pressure for her to give hers, Sinthia stopped and turned back, and let herself down to actually stand on the ground, smooth paved with large bricks, settling as if preparing to run. "I don't have a name," she whispered, though she didn't keep her voice soft out of any intent for deceit. It was just that she didn't talk much as it was, and loudly almost never.

"Oh, er, well, that's good." He hadn't meant it that way, really. But... okay. He swallowed as he peered at her and she settled to the ground.

But it was her words that struck him.

"NO name? Do you want one? Do you... what do people call you?"

She takes a long time to answer that, looking at her toes in contrast with the bricks and paving stones, feeling the heat from them seep into her skin. It was better than the cold.

"Asset," she murmured in response to his questions, honest as she could be but still seeming hollow. "Weapon." She's good at what she does, what she is, but what she does isn't nice. She's very good at killing people, though.

"Ah, no, uhm... let's see. How about... Helenia?" He smiled shyly. "That was my mother's name, and I don't think she would mind you using it, at least until we figure out what yours is supposed to be."

He felt odddly protective of this strange girl. Maybe because he knew what it was like to not have a purpose, not have a life, of your own. To be lost.

He nodded. "Are you hungry?"

[personal profile] abyssum_invocat 2016-07-06 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Helenia," she echoed, mouth pulling to one side in consideration. It sounded as good as anything else, and she couldn't see why it wouldn't work. At least someone would know what to call her, even if the name didn't quite fit into the blank name-sized hole in her view of herself.

"It's all right. And I don't think so."

Podrick nodded, then smiled to her, eyeing her.Hopefully someone might know what to do here.

"Okay. Well, then what would you like to do? Here, I mean. Were you looking for something or someone?"

[personal profile] abyssum_invocat 2016-07-07 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
After a quiet moment, she just shakes her head. "I don't know what I was looking for. I was just wandering."

She's not entirely sure she was looking for anything to begin with, but she doesn't feel like protesting.
squireofhonor: (Serious)

[personal profile] squireofhonor 2016-07-07 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay." Podrick fell into line next to her then.

"Did you get assigned a house when you got here? They are pretty comfortable."
abyssum_invocat: (pink)

[personal profile] abyssum_invocat 2016-07-07 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Somewhere," she murmured, shying away from him at that question. "But I don't want to sit in a house. I don't want to be put away somewhere."
squireofhonor: (erm what)

[personal profile] squireofhonor 2016-07-07 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Podrick blinked.

"Of course. I'm hardly going to force you into one, miss. It's so you have a place to sleep, at night, no other reason."

Podrick was so confused and felt so very out of his depth, now.

"Ah... can i get you anything?" Maybe he should just let her be? He had no idea now what he was doing.
abyssum_invocat: (Default)

[personal profile] abyssum_invocat 2016-07-07 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
She looked over at him, expression curiously surprised at that. Everyone she'd ever known had one of two roles: target, or handler.

"I don't sleep at night. I don't....sleep much," she murmured. She'd never really been kept out of the cryosleep long enough to get tired. "I don't know what to do other than wander."
squireofhonor: (what)

[personal profile] squireofhonor 2016-07-07 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Podrick nodded, listening, and hmmmed. He had no idea but... er. hmmm.

"Have you considered getting a job? Or making friends to spend time with?" He was curious.

"Still, a house here is, like, a private place you can go, if you want." he nodded, then.

"Uhm, there are a number of taverns, and parks. I am fond of the parks at night."
