The question clearly took her back, as of course she was alive- or so far anyway. What had happened to get her to this place, she didn't know, but Emily was fairly certain she would have remembered dying. No, Ian had had her as she had made a mistake, thinking he had gotten in to the car. Thankfully the vest had saved her from the gunshots to the chest, but that was all. Now it was trying to bide her time and work out a plan for escape.
She had left, yes, but surely they wouldn't have thought she was dead. Unless someone had told them otherwise? Yet even then, Emily doubted that they would just accept her death without hard evidence to the otherwise. But, how else was she supposed to answer the question about her being alive but with, "I am..."
There was a questioning in her eyes as her face remained concerned. But, when he spoke again... Two months? It had not been two months since the last time that Emily had seen him. She could remember Hotch starting to speak, remembered looking to all their faces, before turning around and leaving. She had no explanation for his questions though but simply shook her head. "That- I don't know what you're talking about. Doyle... I was his captive, but he hadn't hurt me."
Too bad, anyway. "I just saw you, Morgan. Not that long ago. I know he hasn't had me two months."
