There was a part of Cullen that was utterly horrified with what had happened, with how he'd responded and with Ander's responses to him. That is what he was fighting against. That is what he didn't want to be anymore. And yet here he was, Anders cowering before him like so many mages had in Kirkwall.
There was also a part of Cullen that was viscerally exultant at provoking this response, but he quashed that quickly. Yes, his wife had been insulted, but she was perfectly capable of standing up for himself. There was no need to take that out on anyone. He was not that man anymore.
Taking a sharp breath, he took a step back, studying Anders. He was flickering, his eyes changing as he looked at him. So Justice was fighting for control. He wondered who was in charge now... but given Ander's reaction, there could only be one answer. "I suggest you get out of my sight," he growled out, giving Cal a sharp command to come to heel. He was still mad at the apostate, but that was warring with the part of him that was terrified of becoming the Templar again.
Everything that is wrong with Thedas in this thread...

He would not be the old Cullen anymore.
