It actually took until the cat started talking again before Duo was calm enough not to start throwing stuff around him. He still was on edge, though. He didn't know the cat. He didn't trust the cat. When the hat was offered to him, he shifted enough that he could run if he had to, and took the hat without a thank you.
The braided bitty slammed the hat back on his head, but stopped when the cat asked about the crying. Duo almost said he hadn't been crying, and even opened his mouth to do as much...
But that would be lying. And if there was one thing Duo never did, it was lie. So he closed his mouth, deciding to simply glare at the cat, even with his eyes and nose slightly pink.
