Welcome to Medietas! Are you interested in joining the game? Do you have an old muse you want to dust off? Are you looking for a place to voice test a brand new character and would like to do so in our little island setting? Well, you've come to the right place!
You all know what to do but if you don’t, just follow the instructions and HAVE FUN!
How To Play:
→ Comment with the character you’d like to test drive. Don’t forget to add their name and canon in the subject line.
→ Choose a scenario, or start your own!
→ Tag around!
Possible Scenarios:
1. New Arrival: You have just arrived on the island of Medietas, in the city of Aerilon via a floating boat with people you may or may not know. Of course, you can't help wondering what the heck is going on here, or how you even got on the boat in the first place. But as soon as the vessel docks you are greeted by some lovely locals who offer you a map and a communications device before leaving you to your own. You probably have questions and there seems to be a number of people there already who may or may not have those answers. Talk to them! Or, get on the network and introduce yourself!
2. Getting Settled: So, you've arrived, but now there's five islands you should get yourself acquainted with. Meet your starter home neighbors! Start your new job! Check out the market on Aerilon!
3. Event: The Faire's in town! Feast, socialize, dance, play games! There's plenty to do and the grounds on Mundus are packed with festivities for all to enjoy.
4. Wild Card: Got something else in mind and want to create your own scenario? Go for it!
Sebastian Carter Hokori Anderson | OC | Mix of 1 & 3
He was still in a bit of shock and had simply been going along with everything because what else was he suppose to do. Looking down at the communications device-which made it sound like something out of science fiction book--he wondered what would happen if he could call his father.
I'm lost on Fantasy Island. Could you send the car to pick me up?
Jack would find this entire situation fascinating. An adventure to be experienced and explored. But Jack wasn't here. Jack wasn't anywhere.
Worrying his bottom lip, Sebastian attempted to make sense of the map again. Reading a sheet of music was easy. Reading a map was not. Maybe if he'd been a Boy Scout instead of building blanket forts to hide away with his books. Looking around again he decided being surrounded by so much noise and so many strangers was making it difficult to focus so he started moving away from the crowds and music to find a quiet place. If there was such a place.
He'd never been to an actual outdoor faire before. Not like this. It was distracting to be surrounded by so much energy. Overwhelmingly so when he was already feeling anxious.
no subject
Scanning the crowd, he tried to find a certain flash of blond or maybe the shimmer of glitter. Something that would be a link to home but so far he hadn't seen anyone that looked familiar.
A few people eyed him strangely, either intimidated by his height or the way he held himself. His marks were glamoured so he looked like a Mundane but Alec couldn't really hide that he had spent most of his life training as a soldier. When he realized that he wasn't going to find Jace or Magnus, he started moving toward the edge of the crowd, pausing when he noticed someone who looked obviously lost.
He didn't really know his way around but he seemed more confident about his surroundings than the Mundane with a map. Making his way to the being's side, he tried to look as non threatening as possible. "Need some help?"
no subject
It was an argument he'd had with himself over and over again. Jack would want him to be happy. But how could he be happy without Jack?
He needed help.
"No, wait! I meant yes. I do." He looked up quickly, almost desperate to retract his previous answer and finally figure out the mess he'd found himself in. And then looked up a little higher because while he wasn't short, he was 5'9", the person he was speaking to was taller. And then he just stared for a moment. "I'm lost."
no subject
Shoving his hands into the pockets of his jacket, Alec began to turn away when the Mundane spoke. Looking down at the being, he knew he was scowling and told himself to stop. Intimidating Mundanes would not make things better. Slowly, he forced himself to relax, waiting for the Mundane to figure out what he wanted. "So you do want help?"
no subject
"Yes. Please." He amended quietly. He needed the help and his parents had always told him to be polite no matter the circumstances. He should be grateful someone was offering. Be grateful. Be polite. "I'm-I've-I'm new here and all they gave me was this map. I'm not sure I'm reading it right."
no subject
"It's okay. I'll help you find your way." His voice was soft and steady, just loud enough for the Mundane to hear. Like he was talking to Max. His heart ached for a moment as he realized he was using that special, big brother voice and then pushed the thought aside. "I'm new too," he said, looking over the Mundane's shoulder to study the map. "I'm Alec. They gave me one of those maps and they're impossible to read unless you stare at them for hours." Or had a rune that helped clarify things like incomprehensible maps.
no subject
But the tone of Alec's voice was slightly comforting and he was in a new and different place. Maybe he should stop wondering why and start being more accepting. Jack would want him to be more open to the possibilities.
"If we're both new how are you suppose to help me find my way?"
no subject
Too bad it was so difficult for Alec to seem like he was shorter or less dangerous.
His smile steadied when the being asked that question, reminding him of Izzy or Jace. They always questioned his observations, or had until he'd proven that paying attention in boring classes meant that he made connections that they hadn't. "Because I sat down and figured out the map as soon as they gave it to me. And I have a good sense of direction." He couldn't mention how but even without that detail, the comment was true. "I was taught to always figure out my surroundings whenever I end up somewhere new."
no subject
"I know moss grows on the north side of a tree." And that was the extent of his knowledge. Maybe he could figure out the map on his own if he calmed down and focused.
Glancing sideways at Alec again he decided letting Alec help was a better choice.
"Am I at least holding it right?"
no subject
Fighting back a smile, he nodded, scanning the map before pointing at it. "This is where we are." Slowly, he began picking out landmarks, gesturing to where they were in relations to where they were located, explaining the best routes to the most obvious places that the being would need to find. "You just need to find something that you'll remember. A place to work out from, then you can range out farther until you find all the places you want to go."
no subject
"I want to go-" He almost said home, but that wasn't completely true. He didn't want to go back and it didn't feel right to call this new place home. "They said we had temporary housing?"
no subject
Or maybe not. The being hadn't been forthcoming with information and most people gave Alec wary looks whenever he around Mundanes. He might not want Alec to know where he lived. "You can ask one of the locals if you don't want me to know where you're staying."
no subject
"Why would I not want you to know? I don't have anything worth stealing and I lost my virtue years ago." Okay. He was trying to be casual and now he sounded like a pervert. A strange oversharing pervert who was horrible with casual conversations and just being casual and normal in general. "I meant...I'm sorry. I didn't mean it to sound like you were thinking-"
He's just going to stop talking before he gets punched.
no subject
The question wouldn't really help them so he shoved it aside to focus on finding a way to solve the being's housing problem. At least that was Alec's intention before the newcomer explained why it was safe to give his address out to him. Quirking an eyebrow, he wasn't quite sure if he should be amused or angry by what had been suggested.
It kind of reminded him of the things Magnus said to try to tease him. Another subject not to think about, but it did cause Alec to go with the more humorous response that came to mind. "My sister used to tease me that she could always tell if a guy was gay but I never believed it. Is there some secret way to know that no one told me about?"
Pausing a beat before he shrugged. "Your virtue's safe with me even if you supposedly lost it years ago."
no subject
Was there something wrong with him that he wasn't attractive or interesting enough to-wait. Why was he even thinking any of this when the most important thing at the moment was being lost and saying stupid things to strangers.
Wait.
"Supposedly?"
no subject
Having the newcomer focus on the 'supposedly' wasn't what he expected. "Yes, supposedly. Virtue isn't something that's just lost because you have sex with someone. I never understood why virginity is connected to virtue when virtue is supposed to be how good of a person someone is."
no subject
And then he said it out loud to a stranger, something he had taken years to say outloud to his own father after his initial reaction, "I'm gay and I can't tell the difference."
Maybe it wasn't considered brave when the person you were saying it to was also gay. It wasn't as easy when Jack wasn't there to give him the courage. But it felt easy. Easier. And he felt strangely calmer and less worried about being lost in a strange place surrounded by strangers.
no subject
No, he couldn't think about Magnus or he'd start getting depressed again. He couldn't give in to that the way he almost had when he'd thought he was going to lose Magnus. He'd promised his boyfriend he wouldn't give in to those types of thoughts if they were ever separated again. "My kin believed that if you were gay, there was something wrong with you. You weren't an equal but they were wrong. Just like saying you lost what made you a good person because you had sex with someone. You're willing to trust me when I did the same thing and you don't even know if I was a good person to begin with"
Which probably wasn't a good way to convince someone to let him help them find their house but Alec never had been good at being tactful.

Re: Sebastian Carter Hokori Anderson | OC | Mix of 1 & 3
At the chiding, the light darted away to hide in Cricket's hair.
Re: Sebastian Carter Hokori Anderson | OC | Mix of 1 & 3
"Were you speaking to me?" He asked cautiously, not completely sure the light and the comment were connected. He could have imagined the light. It had been a stressful day.
Re: Sebastian Carter Hokori Anderson | OC | Mix of 1 & 3
Reaching up into his hair he pulled the little light out, letting it bob on top of palm. Taking a closer look, there's a hint of a figure, androgynous, inside the ball of life.
"It's a spirit," he said. As the spirit bobbed, the tattoos on Cricket's forearms - silver lines that looked like a Celtic knot but with rounded corners, glowed softly for just a moment.
Re: Sebastian Carter Hokori Anderson | OC | Mix of 1 & 3
Smiling at Aisling he moved closer, "You're beautiful. I've never seen a spirit before." Because his parents taught him it was impolite to speak about someone as if they weren't there. "I'm Sebastian."
"I'm sorry. I'm new here...My name is Sebastian." He would have held out his hand to the stranger, but he's never been comfortable with touching a stranger, even if it is simply shaking hands.

"Παρακαλούμε, ξέρετε πού είμαστε?"
Barefoot and with autumn leaf hair, the nymph is out of place and starting to worry.
[ooc: hover for translation! Further conversation will be typed in English, but she doesn't speak it.]

Or Japanese.
In fact, he didn't recognize the language at all. Not even a hint of it.
"I'm sorry. I don't understand."
Even if he couldn't understand her words there was something familiar about her tone and the look on her face. She looked as lost as he felt.
no subject
Shaking her head sadly, she gestures to his mouth, then her head, and gives a helpless shrug.
"I do not know your tongue," she says slowly, in case that might help. A graceful hand makes an expansive gesture, encompassing the docks and the bustling crowds. Her other hand holds her device and map almost carelessly; she doesn't know what they are. "I believe I am lost, and you might be, too."
